Lessons learned from a year publishing Paranormal Women’s Fiction
Created with MidjourneyIt’s that time of year when I’ve bought a new paper diary and start thinking about goals for next year. I’m looking backwards as well as forwards, peeling back the layers with the benefit of hindsight to work out where I should go next.

Absence, Presence and Objects Imbued with Love
Photo by Nick KenrickMany moons ago, I read Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way and it changed the way I thought about creativity. In it, Julia recommends journalling, termed by her as morning pages, as a conduit to clearing our minds and greater creativity.
I’ve journaled since I was a teenager, but sometimes I leave months between entries. I was reminded recently that that the beauty of morning pages is excavating our minds of the burdens we carry, and as a tool to explore thoughts we might oth...

In the Armchair (for the second time): Daryl Rothman
Welcome to my interview series, In the Armchair.
Today, I’m delighted to welcome my author friend Daryl Rothman back to the blog. He gave us such a wonderful interview the first time, that I invited him back to share his newest release with us.
Our friendship goes back to our early days on Twitter, in those heady days when we both blogged more. Years later, we both signed to the same publishing house. It’s been wonderful to his creativity continue and to see his books take flight into the world....

Moon Landing
Photo by Emilio KufferA while back, Samuel Peralta, an author I have long admired from afar, and whose posts here on the book of faces often make me stop and think, dreamed up a wonderful contemporary arts and culture project called The Lunar Codex.
The project involves sending books, art and film in digital and analog form to the moon in time capsules. They will be hitching a ride on a NASA mission. He just announced that he has chosen anthologies I am part of to include in The Lunar C...March 15, 2022
