HER HIDDEN GENIUS

Greetings Goodreads Readers!

As a writer of historical fiction about women who’ve left crucial legacies, I am often asked the following question: who are you writing about next? Given that I have a long list of women from the past whose stories deserve to be told, this can be tough to answer depending on where I am in the writing process. But not right now. I can’t wait for you to read HER HIDDEN GENIUS, the important, compelling story of the brilliant British scientist Rosalind Franklin.

Maybe you’ve heard Rosalind’s name and know a bit about her, or perhaps she’s unknown to you. Either way, in HER HIDDEN GENIUS, you’ll discover my Rosalind Franklin, a tenacious genius who conducted laborious scientific research that led to an understanding of the double helix structure of DNA. That research was then shared without her knowledge or permission by her colleague Maurice Wilkins with two men you may have heard of — Francis Crick and James Watson. Using that research, these now-famous scientists very quickly built a model and wrote a paper about the nature of DNA for which they ultimately won the Nobel Prize, while Rosalind’s role was largely hidden.

But Rosalind gets a second chance at life and recognition in the pages of HER HIDDEN GENIUS, a story that is at once scientific and suspenseful. And readers will also learn the way in which we are indebted to Rosalind for her later research into the structure of viruses and RNA — as that may well have played a role in understanding COVID and creating vaccines. Please join me in discovering the brilliance and legacy of Rosalind Franklin in HER HIDDEN GENIUS.

Thank you and happy reading!
