Angela von der Lippe is an author, novelist and essayist who has written the novel THE TRUTH ABOUT LOU: a novel after Salome (Counterpoint, 2008) and has edited and translated the memoir YOU ALONE ARE REAL TO ME: Remembering Rainer Maria Rilke by Lou Andreas-Salome (BOA editions, 2003) A NEW EDITION was published in paperback in 2021.
At present she has completed a chronicle of her experience caring for her dying mother with the working title 'WHEN I'M SIXTY-FOUR: dying naturally in an unnatural world.'
VON DER LIPPE has had a longstanding career in publishing, first at Birkhauser (& Suhrkamp) Boston, then at Harvard University Press and later at W.W. Norton where she edited an occasional literary novel and book of poems, but principally non- ...more
