It's loosely based on the African beliefs of magic; black magic, traditional doctors, spirituality, and follows a woman who has the potential to become one of the most powerful shamans to ever exist, if they don't kill her first. The story is also about the relationship between this woman and a personified Death and how this impacts her life.
