Blurb:
She gave me her kidney. I gave her my heart...
Nicholas Blake learned a long time ago that nobody does anything for free. He’s felt the pain of lies and manipulations enough times to know that people only look out for themselves, and that all good deeds come with a price. So when he wakes up from a near deadly car accident and finds out a stranger is offering to donate her kidney, he’s immediately suspicious of her intentions.
What he doesn’t expect is Iris Chamberlain, a beautiful woman with a big smile and an even bigger heart, claiming she just wants to help. The more time Nick spends with Iris, the more he starts to believe in what he always thought was impossible: a pure heart.
But betrayal leaves a bitter mark. Will Nick be able to let go of his past and let Iris in? And will Iris be able to show him what it truly means to have a pure heart?

Random Questionnaire!
Hey guys! So I'm in the middle of procrastinating writing ;) And I came across this random question generator. I'm a nerd and I kinda love filling out questionnaires so I thought I'd give it a go <3 <3
1. What is your favorite smell?
I love how it smells in Phoenix after a rainstorm! I used to think it was a common scent but apparently it's not, which is quite unfortunate for everyone who hasn't experienced it. The native creosote bush-- a common plant throughout Western North America--is responsible for the amazing smell :)
2. Would you prefer to live in an urban area or a rural area?
When I was younger I wanted nothing more than to live in an urban area. I had dreams of moving to NYC or Boston or Washington D.C. or San Fran, etc... and I still love those places; I've been lucky enough to see all but San Francisco. I loved the idea of being able to walk everywhere and being surrounded by people. But over the years my introverted nature increased tenfold and I realized that a quiet house with my family and dogs is more my speed ;)
3. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Okay, full disclosure, I wanted to be an actress or a singer... I know, crazy, right?! A) I'm shy as FUCK, so idk what I was thinking :o and B) I can't sing or act lol Now I can safely say that writing feels like my calling! I love it like nothing else :)
4. Would you rather be granted 3 wishes of your choice 10 years from today or be granted 1 wish today?
I'm typically all about delayed gratification. I'd eat my vegetables first and save my potato for last, or I'd do my history homework before diving into my math. But I also don't believe in pinning everything on the future. Not to be morbid, but maybe I don't have ten years left. Delaying homework and peas for a couple minutes is a lot different than waiting years. So short answer: I would definitely take one wish today :)
5. Do you have any pets?
I do <3 I've always grown up with dogs in the house, and I couldn't imagine my life without them! Now I have two of my own. Molly is a beagle mix, turning five in May, and Dakota is a German shepherd/lab mix, turning four in July. They're both growing up so fast--I wish they'd stay my babies forever!!
6. What is your favorite day of the year?
Hmmm, this is tough. (Also, is anyone else thinking about Miss Congeniality and when Stan asks Rhode Island what her favorite date is?! LOL) Anywho... I'd say it's probably Thanksgiving. I love all the holidays, but I just love the atmosphere of this one the most. Everyone is so thankful, plus I love autumn and football... it's the perfect time of year :)
7. What's the longest you have gone without sleep?
Easy. My freshman year in college I went to D.C. to visit my friend Zack. And we had this crazy idea that we'd go to NYC for a day, get on a train at 4 AM and leave NYC on a 11 PM train (or some crazy hours like that). So with the train ride being about three and a half hours long, we were up for almost twenty-four hours :o We actually didn't even do anything for last hour or so because we were so exhausted. Zack and I hung out in a hotel lobby until it was time for us to get to the train. Fun fact: I actually fell asleep and he thought I was dead because of how unresponsive I was
8. What is the longest amount of time that you've slept for?
HA! I love when random things don't seem random, but these two questions were ;) This is also pretty easy. When I was a sophomore (maybe junior?) in college I got bronchitis, and it was FUCKING MISERABLE! It knocked me on my ass. I was in and out of consciousness for about three or four days. Obviously I didn't sleep straight through, I was too busy coughing up a lung, but I was definitely out for most of it.
9. What is the last thing you do before you go to sleep?
Okay, this is weird guys, but do any of you know what ASMR is? If you don't, it stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It's a term to describe a sensory experience characterized by a pleasant tingling sensation in the head and scalp. Probably sounds weird... and it is. People have different triggers. Mine are sounds like whispering, scraping, brushing, and tapping, to name a few. The point is, I experience it and I usually watch this video right before I go to bed. It easily lulls me to sleep!
10. What is the best piece of advice that you've received?
This isn't necessarily a piece of advice that one person gave me, it's just a piece of advice that I've come to believe strongly. BE UNAPOLOGETICALLY YOURSELF. It sounds easy, like something everyone knows and should be able to follow. But I've learned that that's rarely the case. I spent a lot of years not thinking about what I want or my best interests, nothing terrible came from those choices, but I hadn't been living the life I wanted. There's no "right" or "wrong" way to be, and the sad truth is you will always disappoint someone in some way. The only person you owe anything to is your self <3
Wow, that was A LOT of fun! I hope you guys will consider taking a peek at the site:
