I was raised in Kimberley, South Africa. Our family moved to the United States in 1990 to pursue the promise of America and the opportunities she embodies. Although the specific details of my life may appear different from your own at the superficial level, beneath the surface I am just like you. I am an Earthling. I hope for meaning, health, and enough resources for me and mine to endure in relative comfort and safety. I also hope to make a worthy contribution to humanity with my life energy.

I have degrees in chemistry and music, and a deep interest in and a love for both the sciences and the arts. I believe no accurate understanding of the world can be attained without looking into many different areas of study, since the world contains t

Hey Dros

Thank you for the worthy question.
I will give an overview of my experience in a moment, but I would like to point out that this content was born initially out of my own process of introspection and personal growth — the combination of my experiences, my (sometimes over-) analytical and probing mind, and an insistent belief in a larger and deeper purpose to life.

My experiences have enabled me to compare that understanding of myself to many different kinds of people in many different circumstances. While I may not be a clinical psychologist, I do not believe one has to be in order to arrive at the self-evident truth of our sameness. That being said, this work has been vetted by several competent psychologists, physicians, and neurologists.

My experience includes:
- living on three continents and speaking three languages
- 15 years as a teacher (Math, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Environmental Science, Music, Religious studies)
- including in the context of children from privileged backgrounds, as well as poor immigrant children living in dysfunctional circumstances
- 11 years in the entertainment industry in Hollywood
- entertainment media/journalism
- film/TV production/directing (I directed TV pilot featuring Mel Brooks)
(- And Dros, my partner and I were even developing a story about a fruit fly named Dros.)
- Involved in several tech startups, some as co-founder
- Consultant for a 2008 Presidential campaign
- Worked with several billionaires, fashion and music icons
- Undergraduate and graduate degrees (chemistry & music)
- Presented original plasma physics/meteorological research at a national symposium in 2014
- I even spent time studying religion in a seminary in the Middle East some years ago
- I have had a life-long interest in and have informally studied several areas of great interest to me, all which have a bearing on this topic, including anatomy and physiology, human body language, behavior & psychology, religion and spirituality, and others.

As to whether my writing in this area is authoritative, I will not presume. I have tried to share honestly what I have discovered, and I while I believe it to be powerful, empowering and self-evident, I do not claim any great authority in writing it, other than being an authority in understanding myself.

I know this understanding has clarified many things for me, both large and small. Try it only against your own logic and experience. Keep what is useful to you and discard what is not.

Warm regards,
Arnie(less)

This sounds like a question for veteran writers. I am just grateful, at this point, to be able to say that I have written a book.
And if it can make a positive contribution to a most worthwhile conversation... what more could a writer ask for?(less)

Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse
“Within Siddhartha there slowly grew and ripened the knowledge of what wisdom really was and the goal of his long seeking. It was nothing but a preparation of the soul, a capacity, a secret art of thinking, feeling and breathing thoughts of unity at every moment of life.

This thought matured in him slowly, and it was reflected in Vasudeva's old childlike face: harmony, knowledge of the eternal perfection of the world, and unity.”
