With an explorer’s curiosity and a knack for being in the right place at the right time, Steve Kaffen has traveled the world and writes about his experiences. His books include hundreds of supporting photos.

Steve is a long-time member of the respected Explorers Club, nominated by mountaineer Sir Edmund Hillary after they met high in the Himalayas. The following year, Steve climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro to see sunrise over Africa, and several years later, he joined Chile's Navy on a voyage into Antarctica.

Steve's travels include a four-year unexpected journey across Asia, Africa, and the Americas; an overland trek across the Middle East; numerous voyages by ship; and bus and rail adventures in Europe, Australia, and the United States.
