To Catch a Killer is a One Book, One School Selection!
Exciting news! My young adult forensic mystery To Catch a Killer (Erin Blake series, #1) was nominated by the New Hampshire school community for their prestigious One School, One Book program. ANNOUNCEMENT
My Erin Blake forensic mystery series To Catch A Killer and To Right The Wrongs is getting a sibling. Please welcome: Co-written with my husband, Jerry Piatt. Like any new tech, the Tesla Model 3 is amazing and fun. It’s also about as different from driving a regular car as using an iPhone was different from a flip phone. (Remember those?) While I was learning about my car I read so many comments on forums where the husband wanted to buy a Tesla, but his wife was concerned it might be too technical for her. I get it! I have trouble working the TV … Continue reading →

To [blank] The [blank]…an Announcement!
I got an email today from a sixth grader named Isaac. Here’s what he had to say… Dear Ms.Scarborough: Your books “To Catch A Killer” And “To Right The Wrongs” are tied as my favorite books. They are the best books that I have ever read and the best books that I will probably ever read… (Probably ever read? I actually teared up a little at that notion.) Issac went on to give great detail about the things he really loved about my characters and stories. He also really hopes I’m writing a third book in the Erin Blake series. … Continue reading →

Ex-Prosecutor Knew He Was Innocent But Prosecuted Him Anyway!!
First, understand that justice isn’t always about the truth. Often a just decision is handed down simply because one side made the more compelling argument. Mistakes are made. In the 1993 case of Anthony Wright, he was convicted of killing an elderly woman in North Philadelphia, after police claimed he voluntarily confessed AND that they found clothing with the woman’s blood in his residence during a search. Wright spent more than TWENTY YEARS in prison for–it turns out–a murder he didn’t commit. In 2014, DNA evidence cleared Wright and his conviction was vacated thanks to The Innocence Project. But, during their … Continue reading →

Wi-Fi Can Detect Weapons in Bags…
I am a total techy. I have a RING doorbell, HUE lights, We-Mo plugs, a NEST Thermostat…if I could have a sandwich connected to Wi-Fi so I could visualize it being converted into actual energy after eating it…I would do that too. Wi-Fi connected things are just SO COOL. So here’s another thing Wi-Fi can do. it can penetrate a bag and determine the size and shape of what’s inside. Through various tests, this low-cost option can detect weapons, a bomb and even the amount of liquids contained inside without having to physically look inside the bag. Read more about … Continue reading →
