What are You Focused on? 🌻

I chuckle over today’s fun fact. Have you ever watched a squirrel? In the moment, they are hyper-focused on the future, yet whose future are they really focused on?

I love it when science catches up to the Bible. God, too, told us the importance of focus. Proverbs 4:25-26 says, “Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths of your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.”

Focus is biblical!

And what we focus on matters.

Maddie is learning thi...

Where is God in the middle of Chaos? 🌻

“Formless and void.” This is the English translation of the Hebrew words “tohu and wabohu.” The Strong’s concordance uses words such as “without form,” “emptiness,” “confusion,” “chaos,” and “desolation” to describe the Earth before God stepped in and commanded Light in the darkness.

When we turn on the evening news, it’s not difficult to ask, “Are we returning to darkness? Is chaos winning?”

In Revealed Hope, Maddie finds herself once again in the midst of chaos, but she no longer stands as one...

The Greatest Love 🌻

Do you know how much you are loved?

Today’s fun fact comes from John 15:13. Jesus spoke this to His disciples just after He commanded them to love one another as He loved them.

One thing that our Maddie struggles with is understanding a love that allows suffering.

Why did Jesus have to die?

In Revealed Hope, her new friends, Abigail and Hannah, give her insight into the event that changed all of history. Let’s listen in:

Maddie knew that Jesus was prophesied to return at the end of the tribulation, ...

Machaseh Our Refuge 🌻

Have you met my friend, Jade?

If you’ve read any of The Revealed Book Series, then you’ve met Maddie, the Protagonist, and her squad, Rachel, Jade, Emma, and Kaitlyn.

Jade was so much fun to write! Quick-witted and audacious, she is not afraid to disagree with the status quo.

Maddie’s friend loves verbal sparring. In fact, she and Rachel often debate. An ENTP: Sanguine-Choleric—Jade is a skeptic and a non-conformist who can shred arguments and beliefs while shredding her opponent’s defense in volle...

Rekindled Hope 🌻

Friend, how is your hope bucket? You know, the place where the hope of Jesus overflows?

In January, I shared my word of the year—rekindle. Today, as I celebrate the first day of spring, my heart is once again prompted:

To rekindle my first Love.

I said yes to Jesus around the age of twelve, but only from fear of hell and brimstone. At the age of eighteen, I chose to walk away from God, thinking I could do life better on my own. (Foolish mortal.) The years that followed were brutal.

At the age of thi...

Finishing Well 🌻

Today, I am happy to share that:

Revealed Hope is finished!

Well, the rough draft anyway. This weekend, my developmental editor Lauren will have it in her lovely hands, and the fun will begin!

I can’t thank each of you enough for walking this journey with me. It truly does take a village to carry an author through her project, and I am so grateful to have each of you!

But the fun is not over! I have some exciting things in the works:

The amazing Shayr Guthrie and Mark Stiehl are working on the audiob...

We are in a Battle 🌻

Have you heard the news?

Jesus has overcome! That’s right, whatever you hear in the current news cycle, Jesus is in the battle and has won the war!

I am knee deep in the final two chapters of Revealed Hope, so I don’t have many words for you today, except for this: He has overcome, and so we shall overcome.

After a terrifying face-off with the PeaceKeepers in Wild Rock, Tennessee. Maddie asks her Gram in Revealed Courage to explain why she confronted them. Grammy has some strong and lasting words ...

The Adventure of a Lifetime 🌻

Life is an adventure.

Do you know this to be true?

I remember when I was a young girl, listening to adults refer to life as a “rat race.” While I was excited to be an adult, the idea of running around like a rat chasing money, status, or career did not appeal to me.

I do, however, have an intense desire to do things well. Some may call me a workaholic, but I prefer a steward of the talents God has given me.

When God called me on a unique adventure in 2020, I took His ask very seriously.

The year befo...

Let's Pause 🌻

This week, as I ventured to Maryland for testing, I watched God move in mighty ways, as He always does. He moves every day, right? But there is something about being swept away with Him that seems to illuminate His Presence in 3-D.

Have you ever been on a mission trip? Well, then, perhaps you know what I mean.

It was evident to me as I was swept up in the crowds of people hurrying home on Wisconsin Avenue on Tuesday Evening. Do I look like that? I wondered.

I had to purposely step out of the crowd ...

Divine Appointments 🌻

Today’s Fun Fact Friday is a throwback from 2023. Next week, I venture on one of my favorite divine opportunities. In preparation, I am reminded of God’s hand as I travel.

Enjoy “The Lady in 26E” and come back next week for a new adventure, for Maddie and for me.

This weekend, I ventured on my quarterly quest for a health update.

The air was brisk, but the sun shone bright. I delighted in the resilience of the daffodils as they danced in the sun’s light and the Cherry blossoms that welcomed spri...
