Cultivating a Heart of Thankfulness 🌻

Today I sit in an abundance of oxytocin. I am thankful for you and the time we spend every Friday for tea. I know that your time is precious, and the fact that you choose to spend these few moments with me is an honor.

As I sit in thankfulness, I am reminded of another moment of thankfulness from this week.

We were stuck in the mud. Rain was coming down in buckets, and the clock was ticking. The $300/day stump grinder was due in an hour, and it chose that moment to stop working.

My husband spent th...

The Power of Praise 🌻

How do you lift praise to Almighty God? Does worship fill you with joy or boredom?

I remember the first season I lifted my hands in praise. In the first thirty-five years of life, I worshiped because I was told to. It wasn’t until God awakened me to His heart that I surrendered all and gave Him my praise.

Last week, I shared the power of prayer. Today, I am sharing an excerpt from Revealed Courage, when Maddie surrenders to the Lord’s will, which leads her into praise. When she does, the heavens l...

The Power of Prayer

What do you think of when I say the word “prayer?” I’m sad to admit that for many years, I saw prayer as a form of cosmic vending machine that would spit out what I asked for... sometimes, anyway.

Everything changed when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The five years spent thinking I could do life all by myself were squashed when I learned that my life was forever changed. Fear wrapped me in a cocoon when the thief attempted to steal my peace, but a little orange bible with the book of Psalms...

Lessons from a Screw 🔩🌻

HAPPY FRIDAY #100!! 🥳 Wow, two years! Thank you for walking with me on this newsletter journey. I am so grateful to each of you for taking time out of your day to spend with me.

I’m a bit late in my Fun Fact Friday share, but I couldn’t allow the sun to set on this Friday without reaching out to my favorite online FAM!

Today, I come to you from my home away from home. Some interesting events have brought me into the office, where I have spent the better part of the last two weeks.

When I am not dee...

The Joy of the Lord 🌻

Life has been lifing this week, not gonna lie.

BUT GOD.

I don’t have many words for you as I am recovering from oral surgery. God has been so kind to surround me with prayer warriors who have held up my hands as I navigate this week.

(Thank you! You know who you are!)

I wanted to leave one specific word from His Word that reminds me of the promise found in Psalm 28:7.

He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but ...

Look for the Love 🌻

Last week, I shared the vulnerable place I find myself as I write Revealed Hope. The Lord encouraged me to memorize 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 as I navigate this season.

As I sit in His Word, I ponder how love is greater than even faith or hope. When the world falls into chaos around us, how can I hold on to this promise?

In Revealed Courage, Maddie’s embattled heart considered the same question as her friend, Jade, pointed out the destruction and lack in Atlanta.

Let’s listen in:

The ride to Underground ...

A Vulnerable Post 🌻

Today I write to you a bit overwhelmed. Some setbacks this week remind me that I am a fallible human being in desperate need of my Father.

If I’m honest, I feel vulnerably exposed. Have you ever been in that place where you know that what is coming could be greater than anything you’ve ever experienced before? Yet, you stand frozen—uncertain, unworthy to write the words that God could use to set someone free.

I can’t explain it, except that what I am writing now is the hardest thing I have ever w...

The Marriage of Sound and Words 🌻

We can thank Imogen Howden with RealSam Book Club for today’s fun fact. Click the link for more fun facts about audiobooks. The topic is quite fascinating.

As I pondered the perfect speed to listen to an audiobook, I learned the typical narration speed is 150-160 wpm. Listening at about 1.5x or 1.75x will match your reading speed. This increased listening speed levels with 275 wpm average shared above.

This piqued my interest to find out what the scientists had to say, so I checked out NIH, who re...

May God be Glorified 🌻

Hey, Y’all! Welcome to Fun Fact Friday, Word by Word. My name is Eve, and this is my week in writing. Today, I’m taking a much-needed break to spend time with my amazing writer’s group. We will be praising the Lord for all He did over the last year and setting goals for the year to follow. We would appreciate your prayers as we follow the Holy Spirit’s lead for the coming year. In honor of my tribe, I am sharing Letter 40 from 2024: Grateful for My Tribe with some exciting updates to the glory o...

The Creative's Rest 🌻

Today’s fun fact is on behalf of Pearpod. Creative rest replenishes your ability to imagine new ideas and increases your problem-solving capacity.

Who knew that inspiration for the creative serves as rest?

When writing becomes difficult. When the flow stops flowing, it’s time to be inspired. Some of my favorite things to do:

Go outside for a walk. A walk stimulates the brain, clears mental blocks, and generates new ideas. I like to invite Jesus on my walk and talk to Him about anything that I fe...
