Q. D. Purdu’s debut romance, FAKING LUCKY, won first place in the Texas Writers’ League Romance category, 2014. Desdemona's life is just fine until her ex announces on national television that he dumped her because she fakes. The scoop goes viral and plunges her into a quest to find the reason for her need to pretend. After stumbling through new lovers, a sex club, her old first love, and psycho-analysis, she finds the answer in an unlikely blunder.

Q. D. loves her rescued puppy, red wine, running through sprinklers, dark chocolate with sugared ginger, and anything wrapped in a corn tortilla. Her prized possessions include a hot pink Christmas tree and a garden full of okra and basil.
