Sometimes I picked up a good book and started reading, sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night and scribble something that was on my mind I thought might be good for my story, and other times I just re-read what I'd written so far and it seemed to help me get over the block.(less)

When I worked at a college, I would send out small stories or poems about events happening on campus, and I was told I should be a writer. Then when I was married a few years ago, my new husband encouraged me to just try. So when I finally retired and had time to write, past encouragement was my inspiration!(less)

“Now that I’ve experienced dating through cyberspace, if someone were to ask me just how to join the Millennials in the dating world of today, I’d tell them two things: Watch every television show that features any type of dating, so that you’re not constantly horrified by what people do nowadays; and keep in mind that you’re not sixteen anymore.”
Becky Andersen, We're Not Sixteen Anymore

“Some of their descriptions of what kind of woman they were looking for, and what their ideal date with said woman would be like, could have gone into a soft-porn magazine. I know men think differently, but for heaven’s sake! It was like being around a bunch of prairie chickens, puffing and strutting their stuff, thinking they were enticing an unknown pool of females with their romantic prowess and their ability to delight their ladylove(s).”
Becky Andersen, We're Not Sixteen Anymore

“In the twenty-first century, “friends with benefits” does not mean someone with a swimming pool or a condo on the beach,”

“A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.”
