Self Publishing Is A Doozy
I was afraid to publish this new version of Again, especially by myself and without a clue of what I was doing. How could I manage to do what professionals couldn't and did I really think that I could give the book a better push than people who's job it is to know the ins and outs of the process.
And the answers to both of those questions was 'NO'.
But I felt compelled to try any way.
So now here we are, Again Volume 1 is published and ready for purchase and nobody outside of my Wattpad network knows a thing about it and I have no idea what to do next. I have to advertise but where and to who? Do I start trying to get mentions and reviews on blogs? Do I actually believe the story is good enough to even warrant sending it out to be judged? Just because I like it doesn't mean they will. WHAT IF THEY DONT?
Also I need to build a website and make promotional materials and all while working on getting Volume 2 edited and ready to go. I'm overwhelmed.
But I've also never been more excited either. There's something about knowing that whether this book sells 5 copies or 5 thousand it's up to the amount of work that I'm willing to do that makes me feel like I've already won. Independence and the possibility of being able to say I did it.
I guess now the only thing to do is to do it.
If you have any experience with self publishing or ideas about how to promote or anything really that can help I'm open to all suggestions and I can you all the help I can get! Make sure you comment or message me whatever you think.
