Q. What motivated you to write the book in Cuba unchained? A. I had Long believed that the embargo and other restrictions to normalization between the US and Cuba was largely based on the voting power of the US Cuban expatriates living in South Florida who have not wanted the issues settled diplomatically. The influence of approximately 1 million voters has politicized this issue of almost 60 years. As a result, 10,000,000 Poor Cubans have been victimized by Republicans, democrats and Cuban leadership for decades.
Most US citizens do not know the history or understand the issues relating thereto and it's very negative, unnecessary effects on ordinary Cuban citizen. I thought someone should try to tell the story in a way that was interesting and educational.
