Focusing on what is not oc…moreOne of the ways I deal with writer's block is to try not to focus on it or force myself to write the work in those moments. Focusing on what is not occurring has a way of producing more of it. Instead I allow myself to retreat to an inspiring environment such as sitting on a lakefront, gathering with other writers, or perhaps working on arts and crafts in order to not compound the writer's block resistance and to become revived and refreshed. It is after feeling revived and refreshed that I allow myself to continue writing the work.(less)
