A Bronze Christmas
Trial of the Alchemist placed third in this year’s Book Bloggers' Novel of the Year Award (a large indie book competition with about 300 entrants). Already having a good Christmas, and it’s not even Christmas. Bronze is still a medal, right? https://x.com/BBNYA_Official/status/1...

Trial of the Alchemist is here
Hey friends and enemies,
As of today, my new novel, Trial of the Alchemist, has officially launched on Amazon and Audible. To celebrate this, the e-book is on sale for just 99 cents. If you prefer audio and have an Audible subscription (or have yet to start one), you may be able to pick up a copy for free. There are also text and audio previews if you’re curious.

Trial of the Alchemist
Hi friends,
A big announcement from me: On April 4, I’m releasing my next novel, Trial of the Alchemist. I spent two years writing this one (plus a few rounds of additional editing), and I’ve certainly never been prouder of anything I’ve written.
It’s fantasy, but very different in style and setting from what I’ve written before. It’s a gaslamp mystery. You can read the full blurb here: https://www.amazon.ca/Trial-Alchemist...
The book was picked up by Podium Audio thanks to my friend and agent, Drew, and you can now pre-order Trial of the Alchemist on Audible! (Mind the typo on the audio version; it’s been flagged.) https://www.audible.ca/pd/Trial-of-th... (U.S. link: https://www.audible.com/pd/Trial-of-t...)
Narrating this intense tale is the amazing Vikas Adam, and I genuinely cannot wait to hear him perform a few of my favourite characters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uolrx...
If you don't already have an Audible account, you may be able to score a free copy by signing up for Audible's one-month trial (you'll keep the pre-order even if you cancel the subscription before it releases). Otherwise, you can pick up a copy for a single monthly credit. If audio isn't your medium of choice, you can also grab a Kindle e-book version for just C$4.99 (first link above). I'm told Audible pre-orders, in particular, help boost a book's ranking on launch day.
Amazon doesn’t allow previews for unreleased books, but if you’d like to sample a few chapters before ordering—or if you’re just curious—I’ve been serializing the book here as a way to build an initial audience ahead of its release: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/612...
Thanks to those of you who beta read the book, and a special thanks to my wife, Ariane, for illustrating the cover and Drew for getting an audio deal and helping promote the book.
P.S. I also wrapped up The Terminal City Saga, the trilogy I wrote primarily in my twenties. My old publisher stopped publishing things during COVID, so after years of waiting, I finally just quietly self-published the book here for anyone who’s read the other two: https://www.amazon.ca/Reapers-Edge-Te...

It's here!
Hey all, the sequel to Terminal City, called Winter's End, will be available as an ebook THIS MONDAY. If you pre-order the book before then, it's half-price. Translated, that's about the cost of half a beer... for a whole book. Did someone say wow? No. Fine.
Anyway, it's a book I wrote, and if you liked the first one, you'll probably like this one.
Pre-order it here: https://www.amazon.com/Winters-Termin...
(It's also on Goodreads now, under books by me.)

If you're interested in the (very) occasional Terminal City update along with updates regarding future book release (ie. when the sequels come out), well, I've implemented two great ways to stay informed.
Method, the first: Follow my Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/trevormelans...
Method, the second: Sign up for my newsletter here: http://trevormelanson.com/
Or go crazy and do both. I promise not to pester you unless I really must.

Kindle version of Terminal City now available
Just a reminder that the Kindle version of my first novel, Terminal City, is now available here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BK8IVR4/e...
I'll keep you all posted on the print version release in the months to come. And, of course, on book two, which I swear is just being edited now and is almost done.
