I guess this has more to with with style and a writers familiarity with what works best for them. Without meaning to when I wrote Ancient Illumination I did so not having one main character to focus on but rather different groups of people. The scenarios then go from one group to the others and follows them through events that will at some point connect them all.
Curious to see if other writers do this or do they use an archetype that focuses on one main character taking the reader through that singular journey and tying in everyone else's story to the main protagonist. I am also curious as to what readers prefer.
