Thomas graduated from San Diego State University in 2011 with a degree in marketing.

After college, he went right to work at an advertising agency in Los Angeles, eager to begin his ascent up the corporate ladder. But after just nine months, he was completely burned out. The L.A. traffic. The long hours sitting in a cubicle. The stressful work. He couldn't take it anymore.

That's when he quit his job and decided to travel the world. His first trip he spent two months backpacking around Europe. Then, months later, he left again--this time bound for Europe, the Middle East, and South East Asia.
