Faith is Our Legacy
I recently lost a couple of friends and a family member. They were believers, Christians. Nevertheless the loss is deeply felt, a chronic ache of the heart; but it's a sorrow not without hope. I'm glad for that. But what do our lives mean? How will they matter when we face the river? Something I gleaned from one of Mitch Albom's books: "Faith is our legacy. Eventually we will be forgotten. But faith, the faith we pass on, lives on."

Jesus, the Incarnation, and Us
What difference does the incarnation of Christ make? A lot of difference. This is how Driscoll & Breshears in DOCTRINE conclude the matter.
As Christ was sent like a missionary to a lost world, so are we. He crossed cultural barriers, leaving Heaven to enter earth in order to save us. We must be willing to take the Gospel to all people. While he healed many of their diseases, His greatest healing was forgiveness for sins. He still offers forgiveness today. We must share that message. He set aside His glory and became a Servant. He lived humbly. So let us live in service to others, seeking their interests ahead of our own.
