Before returning to Maine to focus on thrillers and speculative fiction, Lucas James worked in PTSD research with soldiers in Texas for almost a decade. Before that, he thought computer engineering would be his path, but honestly, he just liked the idea of building robots like a mad scientist. Even earlier, a life along the coast of Downeast, Maine filled his imagination with mist shrouded islands, creatures in the night, and characters both small-town and larger than life. You could say things have come full circle.
