I received my first post-publication review for 'Best Left Forgotten' today, and while it was a relief to read positive feedback what really pleased me was this comment: "I need to know what happens to all of the characters!"

Releasing a book into the world is a bit of an unnerving experience. There's the worry about whether it will be met with a wave of indifference and sell two copies, or whether readers won't care for what they find. But the reason why I love doing it is that these characters are important to me. During the course of writing a novel, as I chart their triumphs, trials and tribulations, they become real to me, and when I finally release it into the world my primary hope is that others might feel the same way - that they will root for the characters and become invested in their journey. It's a great feeling when this happens.

Right, that's enough of 'Confessions of an author'. I've got Book 3 to write :-)
