During my lifetime I have had the opportunity to meet a multitude of fascinating people It’s not the rich and famous, but the everyday people who have, time after time, taught me valuable lessons, and shown me by their actions what it means to be an everyday hero. I have been a horticultural therapist, hunger activist, teacher, speaker and writer. Together with my wonderful, and incredibly patient wife, Tomi Jill Folk we have written over 20 books ranging from writing specifically for for senior citizens to children’s books. There was an encounter with a group of heavily armed men in a remote area in Florida that led to a great deal of research and intimately the novel "Gator Island" released last year in a Kindle edition.

But, there is another that has led to some on-going research that will hopefully lead to another novel. When we moved to New Mexico one of the first places we visited was Quarai Pueblo ruins. This involves research, writing and rewriting; not necessarily in that order. When one part of this process becomes difficult, I devote time to one of the other elements.

Also, I never work on only one project at a time, and this usually means I can switch from fiction to non-fiction. Then, there's always COFFEE!(less)
