Gordon MacKinney's first novel, Follow Me Down, was published in 2017 and won the Literary Titan Gold Award. His second novel, Tell Anyone You Want That I Was Here, was published in 2022.

Gordon lives and writes in the foothills of Northern Colorado. He was a columnist for The Coloradoan for more than a decade and has written guest columns for the Denver Post. He has co-owned a successful marketing communications agency, Lightsource Creative Communications, Inc., for more than 20 years.

But seriously, although my wooden block is real, I believe writer's block is a consequence of one of two things: laziness or impossibly high standards. I needn't elaborate on the first. As for the second, I find it helpful to assume that my first draft is going to be complete crap, which is in sync with Anne Lamott's "Shitty First Drafts" lesson from her book Bird by Bird. Just put something down, even if it's garbage. The act of doing so MAY lead you to something that isn't garbage.(less)

The author has found his element. Superb atmospherics and character-building. Never a dull moment. An excellent read.
