سلوى جراح، من مواليد حيفا فلسطين عام 1946، تحمل شهادة البكالوريوس في الأدب الإنكليزي، من جامعة الحكمة للأباء اليسوعيين، في بغداد.

عملت في شركة نفط العراق مترجمة في القسم التجاري وبعد تأميم النفط انتقلت للعمل في هيئة الإذاعة والتلفزيون العراقية.

في 1977 بدأت العمل مع هيئة الإذاعة البريطانية. أمضت سنين العمل في صناعة البرامج وإجراء المقابلات مع نجوم الفكر والأدب.

تركت العمل مع إذاعة البي بي سي عام 1999 وتفرغت للكتابة، نشرت العديد من المقالات الأدبية في مجموعة من الصحف اللبنانية والعراقية، ثم توجهت لكتابة الرواية.
