Shan R.K. is a South African dark romance author. Since 2017, she's been quietly building something too big to call a series — The Fifth State Universe, a world where the dangerous fall in love with the damaged, and somehow it feels completely inevitable.
It started with a homeless girl who saved the wrong woman in a dark alley and wouldn't tell anyone her name.

Started off great The story started off powerful. Very Similar to bound by honor. I love Aleathas books but unfortunately this one fell very short for me. From about page 250 it just felt rushed, and not up to par with her usual writing style.
