The Story of Your Future (and Mine)
For most of my life, I’ve lived in a country with a proud and shameful history. Wonderful things still happen here, but it’s easy to remember the bad: most of us are in debt. New plagues of digital addictions and near-useless information (or worse) assault many of us, daily. Do not forget the growing disparity of wealth, spiraling mental health, and rising gun violence.

Even the first sentence was simple:
“A dark shape scurried through the shadows ahead, disappearing under the belly of a rusted spaceship.”

How is Your Writing Lately?
Don’t answer for me. Answer for yourself.
If you want to grow as a writer, a moment of reflection can dramatically improve the hours you pour into your writing. Ask yourself this—how is my writing?—and you will find ways to conquer problems you’ve been ignoring, you will realize the depth of your achievements, and you will renew your writing momentum, which will spur you to finish your best work.
When I reflect, I ask myself:
What recent achievements, no matter how small, can I celebr...May 26, 2023

Writing is an art, a craft, a tool for exploration, and many other things besides. Writing is a skill, too, and if you want to improve your skill as a writer, you need experience.
