HERS, UNITED IS OUT

I’m extremely excited to announce that Hers, United, Book #5 in my steamy Scifi Romance series is now published. 😀 It’s available on Amazon, Apple, Google Play, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble.

Hers, United cover image Riley and her two troublemakers.

Riley Griffin has two problems.
They’re called Talon and Dagger.

The two male hybrids were arrested on Silenia trying to kill each other, after which they were locked up in an impromptu drunk tank to cool down. As the psychologist on duty, it’s Riley’s task to talk sense into them.

Talon and Dagger are part of the Raptor Clan – a group of Taraseban hybrids freshly landed on Silenia. Dagger, disillusioned with his clan, just wants to get drunk. Talon, furious with Dagger’s betrayal, wants to tear him apart. When they meet Riley, both of them want her with passion they’ve never experienced before.

Now, Riley has to battle her own attraction to the two fierce warriors while discovering the forbidden desire at the heart of their conflict. Can she reconcile the men before their time on Silenia runs out, or is it simply too late for a happy end?

Note to reader: This is a dystopian MMF science fiction romance featuring action, suspense, and steamy love scenes between the three main characters. It’s part of a series but can be read as a standalone. HEA guaranteed! If you enjoy hot scifi romance where human women desire beefy alien males who swing both ways, this might be the book for you!

MMF means that the two men have a relationship with one another in addition to loving the lady. If you don’t like a story with a gay aspect, please feel free to skip this book. Instead, be on the lookout for Book #6, working title “Hers, Uncaged”.

The next book in the series will be more or less a regular M/F story, not a menage. But, of course it’ll contain plenty of steamy times between the heroine and her man. The planned publication of “Hers, Uncaged” is in 2023.

I’m stupendously relieved that Hers, United is out because the final edits were a beast. 😀 Writing the first draft, I was so in love with the story and the characters that I became blind to some glaring issues in characterization. Thank goodness for excellent critique partners who took away my rose-tinted glasses and told me what needed fixing. So, a lot of fixing happened. It took a bit longer than expected, and it was a bit harder than expected, but now that it’s done, I’m just so happy and excited.

I hope you enjoy Riley, Dagger, and Talon as much as I did!

HERS, UNITED: FIRST CHAPTER

My hot new Scifi Romance novel Hers, United will be published on August 14th, 2022! I’m so excited to share the first chapter with you. As you can guess from the cover, the story features a woman and two men. This time, the men have a steamy relationship with one another as well, so if you love to read MMF-menages, you might want to check this out! 😉

Riley wove her way through the drunken crowd, everyone dressed in their sexiest attire. Her heart leaped at every non-human she spotted.

Oh, how I’d love to be off work!

Envy was eating her alive.

Roughly ten hours ago, a thousand alien ships had arrived in Silenia’s immediate outer space. Their hybrid passengers stated they were there for sex if the conditions pleased them, and Silenians met their arrival with the biggest party the planet had seen in a generation.

Riley had been staring at the news screens in wonder as it dawned on her that she might finally have a chance to meet someone who was not from her homeworld. Hybrids and aliens were a rare sight in her city of Sky Dome 22, and there were too many Silenians competing for their attention. She’d never even spoken with a hybrid, let alone had sex with one.

But now, hordes of hybrids boasting big sexual appetites had arrived from a world called Taraseba. New Elysium, Silenia’s only pet dating agency, was completely overrun, and the Taraseban hybrids had no patience for Silenian bureaucracy. Desperate to keep the new arrivals happy and to prevent the madly eager Silenians from starting a riot, the government decided to relax the rules for a limited time. The hybrids were allowed to land at spaceports all over Silenia, where they got hastily paired with enthusiastic locals.

The city quickly dissolved into one big orgy. Riley had wanted to be the first in line to meet all the new hybrids, but she’d been stuck at work. Now she was on her way to the former pet training center where two male hybrids were being detained for starting a fight in a club. Riley was the only reachable psychologist, so she had no choice but to answer the request.

Someone bumped into her from behind, sending her falling into the arms of a beefy hybrid.

“Well, hello.” He flashed her a dirty grin while steadying her. “Want to party?”

Yes, please! I’d love to, but…

She gave him a regretful smile. “No, sorry. I’m busy.”

He was taken, anyway. A Silenian woman with the looks of a supermodel appeared at his side, staring daggers at Riley. Gritting her teeth, Riley moved on. Luckily, the former training center loomed ahead.

Once Riley entered the lobby and the glass doors closed behind her, the celebratory noise from the street was replaced by the silence and the stagnant air of an abandoned building. All pet training centers had been closed after the revolution, and many had yet to find a new purpose. Riley had never been inside of one before, but she had no time for sightseeing. A member of the city security in a gray uniform lifted his hand in greeting when he spotted her.

“Doctor Griffin?” He handed her a wristband. “They’re all yours.”

Riley accepted it glumly.

All mine? I wish!

“Why are they here?” she asked him, glancing around the gloomy space.

It’s not particularly welcoming to put our guests here, of all places.

“They tried to kill each other,” he replied. “This was the nearest safe place that could hold them.”

Riley fixed her gaze on him, shocked. “What do you mean they tried to kill each other?”

She couldn’t remember when she last heard such a thing.

“We had to use extreme force to pull them apart. One of them is still unconscious.”

“Shouldn’t they be in a hospital?”

“Relax, Doctor. A bot rendered one of them unconscious for his own safety. He’s fine.”

“So, how badly are they hurt?”

“Nothing life-threatening, as far as we could tell, but we haven’t done a full medical. You should check them, if they let you, but be careful. Who knows what they’re thinking? We collared them to make sure they can’t hurt anyone.”

Riley frowned. “You collared them?”

He could only mean pet training collars, but they’d been deemed illegal.

The guard shrugged. “What else could we do? The city’s a madhouse, overrun with hybrids, and half of them don’t even speak any of Silenia’s languages. We’re just trying to make sure everyone is safe. The station facilities are full, and the restrainer bots are busy patrolling, too, so all we could do was collar these guys and put them in here.”

Riley examined the wristband the guard had given her. It did indeed display links to two collars. The device informed her it had absorbed her DNA, making her the only person who could unlock the collars in question.

The guard went on, “Don’t worry, they won’t be hurt by them. They’re in separate cages. But we can’t let them out before they agree not to tear each other apart. You need to find a way to reason with them.”

Under normal circumstances, spending time with two male hybrids would be a dream come true, but doing it for work felt a nightmare. No way could Riley maintain a professional attitude. She’d been single for too many years, and the prospect of meeting exciting strangers had wound her up to an embarrassing degree. She hated to admit it, but the men would be better off with someone else.

She licked her lips and swallowed. “Look, Officer, you should call someone else for this.”

The man shook his head. “You’re the only one available.”

“But I don’t have any experience with aliens.” Thanks to the authorities. The assholes. “Besides, I’m—”

He scoffed. “Good luck finding a psychologist with alien experience in Twenty-two who isn’t working overtime at the rehab center. They’re all busy, trust me. That makes you the most qualified person around. Because we’re certainly not.”

Her cheeks burned as she admitted, “I can’t guarantee I can maintain a professional distance.”

The guard didn’t appear concerned. “Most likely, they’re too pissed off to let you near them, so keeping a distance should be easy.”

“Why did they try to kill each other?”

“Who knows, maybe they set their eye on the same woman?”

Riley’s eyes widened. It was one thing for men to fight over attention from a woman, but to almost kill? She hoped they were just drunk and horny and the woman hadn’t been so outrageously gorgeous that the hybrids wouldn’t find Riley attractive.

She berated herself. This wasn’t about her. The safety of two hybrids who were guests on Silenia was at stake. No matter what kind of dispute they had, injuring one another while on Silenian soil was unacceptable.

She pulled her shoulders back. “What else do I need to know?”

“You’ll find all the information we got on the wristband, which isn’t much. The first subject appears to be a Human-Wolfman hybrid in his mid-thirties, Earth Standard years. The second one has Crasnian and Lurexian blood and he’s younger. Maybe in his mid-twenties.”

With her heart racing, Riley considered what that might mean for her. Wolfmen had superhuman senses, so the one hybrid could probably hear and smell her from a distance. Crasnians resembled humans, only were bigger and stronger, capable of eating almost anything, and could heal from wounds that would kill a Silenian man. Lurexians, on the other hand, were smaller than humans, good-looking, and capable of bioluminescence. So, the second hybrid could be a beast or a beauty.

“Which one did you knock out?” she asked.

“The Crasnian-Lurexian. The other one’s awake.” The guard’s wristband beeped, and after a quick look, he brought it close to his mouth. “On my way.”

Returning his attention to Riley, he said, “You’ll have to excuse me now, Doctor. My partner and I have to continue our patrol.”

“But—”

“All you have to do is take care of the hybrids until they agree not to murder each other. You can release them at your discretion. The wristband gives you full access to this building.” He raised his hand in farewell. “Good night and good luck.”

Riley stared after him until the door closed behind him with an audible click. She was alone in an essentially abandoned building with two imprisoned hybrids. Her pulse was probably above two hundred.

She sighed. Okay, forget about your fantasies and get to work.

She walked down the marble hallway to the former pet display rooms, the silence of the facility pierced by the click of her heels.

Maybe I’ll get lucky, and we’ll reach an agreement quickly.

The Human-Wolfman sat in the first glass cage, staring at the floor. He lifted his head as Riley approached, his dark eyes observing her. Riley’s heart jumped. He was stunning. Not handsome in the same way that Silenian men were, but rough and imposing with a broad jaw and an intense glare. He wore black pants and a matching short-sleeved shirt of alien design that left his muscular arms on display. An alien tattoo decorated his right forearm.

Riley swallowed. Ugh, why does he have to be good-looking?

In addition, he looked strong enough to bend a steel bar into a knot. Although he was seated, she could tell he was tall, and she wished he would stand up so she could determine his height.

Damn it, this isn’t about you.

He had a bleeding cut on his temple, but his stoic expression betrayed no pain. Riley studied him, impressed. She glanced at the neighboring cage and saw the Crasnian-Lurexian sprawled on the floor, unconscious. While also buff, he had a slimmer build than the Wolfman hybrid, tucked into a white tank top and gray cargo pants. He had sandy brown hair and golden skin.

She used her wristband to read the data from the cages to confirm what the security guard had told her: neither hybrid was severely injured. Their vital functions were green, even though the second one was so still she might have mistaken him for dead.

The way the Wolfman hybrid watched her made Riley nervous, but she did her best to hide it and cleared her throat.

“Do you speak English?”

“Yes.”

He had a deep, calm voice. Riley had expected to meet a raging beast, not someone with such a controlled façade. It made her professional instincts ring with alarm. Blind rage would be easier to dispel than a calculating mind. This male was bad news.

She tried to brush the thought aside and went on, “My name is Dr. Griffin, but you can call me Riley. I’m here to look after you until you come to your senses. What’s your name?”

“Talon,” he said. “The one in the next cell is called Dagger. I appreciate your concern, ma’am, but I’m very much in my senses.”

Shit. What exactly do I have here?

She shifted her weight. “Really now? City security said you tried to kill each other.”

“He abandoned his post,” Talon said.

“You mean a post he was supposed to guard?”

“Yes.”

Damn it. They hadn’t been brawling over a woman; they were soldiers, and one of them was a deserter.

“Is the punishment for desertion death?”

“He told me he has no desire to go back, despite the oath he swore, so yes. He abandoned his duties to get drunk and laid on Silenia, and obviously doesn’t care whether he lives or dies.” Anger flashed in Talon’s eyes. “I’m doing him a favor by putting him out of his misery.”

Riley sighed, crossing her arms. “I can’t allow that. You’re not going to kill anyone, Talon.”

“This has nothing to do with you or your people, ma’am,” the hybrid said, his tone respectful but firm. “This is between him and me.”

“If the one you call Dagger wants to stay on Silenia, he’s welcome to do so. We won’t let any harm come to him.”

“It’s none of your business,” he warned.

Riley considered her dilemma. While she had no clue what kind of culture the two hybrids came from, she sensed he was gravely serious about the broken oath. She had hoped to talk some sense into two horny, hotheaded hybrids and be done by midnight.

Instead, she had one guy who allegedly didn’t care whether he lived or died, and the other determined to bury him. There was no way they could be released anytime soon. She could be stuck guarding them for a long time.

Riley looked at the unconscious hybrid in the next cell. Well. If it saves his life, I’ll do what I can for however long it takes.

Hers, United will be available on Amazon, Apple, Google Play, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble. Subscribe to my newsletter and/or follow me on BookBub if you want to be notified on the release! 😀

COVER REVEAL: HERS, UNITED

Hi everyone! I’m getting close to finishing the fifth book in my super steamy Scifi Romance series, and I’m excited to show you the cover art. 😀 Melody Simmons did an absolutely stunning job. Take a look!

Cover image Hers, UnitedRiley and her two troublemakers.

It’s the fifth book in a series but can be read as a standalone. HEA guaranteed! If you enjoy hot scifi romance where human women desire beefy alien males who swing both ways, this might be the book for you!

This book was actually supposed to be a short story. After Hers, Times Two (Hers #4) I felt I wasn’t yet done writing menages. It was so much fun! So I decided to write a quick and dirty short, this time with a gay aspect in the menage, just for my guilty pleasure, before tackling the next complete book in the series (working title: “Hers, Uncaged”).

I started happily typing away, but by the time I got to the end, I was close to the 60,000-word mark, which is about the same length as all of my other books.

Okay, so it’s a novel, after all!

It turned out to be a lucky accident because I anyway needed to show what happens on Silenia when thousands of hybrids from Taraseba show up. It’s an important part of the series plotline. Plus, I loved Talon and Dagger so much that I felt they should have more than just a few quick chapters. I can’t wait to share the guys with you and I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I do!

Hers, United will be published this summer on the major ebook retailers (Amazon, Apple, Google Play, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble). I’ll upload the first chapter here in the blog in the next couple of weeks so you’ll be able to sample the story.

I have to go back to the writing cave now. I still have so much writing and editing to do it’s scary! 😀

HERS, UNTAMED AUDIOBOOK RELEASED!

My first ever audiobook is now published! 😀 And it’s narrated by me! Click play on the sample below if you want to hear what I sound like.

Jax and Alyssa, now also available as the author’s vanity project voice over. 😉A clip from Chapter 2: Alyssa’s new pet has just woken up…

Wow, this audiobook has been so long in the making that now that it’s out, I’m kind of at a loss what to say. I’m crazy excited, but damn, putting my voice out there is a whole new level of intimidating.

I mean, it’s one thing to write steamy books and publish them with your own face (I admit it took me a year or two before I had the courage to publish an author photo). Narrating them made me feel exposed in a whole new way. I didn’t think reading my book aloud would be a big deal…until I got to the steamy parts.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved it, and I wouldn’t have done it if I weren’t passionate about it. I think I delivered the sexy times okay, but it’s so easy to fumble it. Narrating is hard work to begin with, but while narrating the hot parts I was sweating from anxiety, with all fingers crossed, hoping it comes out right, not overdone but not unemotional either.

I want my listeners to enjoy the experience, steam included, not cringe because my narration is embarrassing.

I hope I did a good job – I think I did a good job – but I’m kind of climbing up the walls thinking about it.

Hers, Untamed the audiobook is available on Google Play, Apple, Libro FM, Chirp and BingeBooks with more retailers to come.

Here’s to hoping you all enjoy it, and do let me know even if you don’t! 😀

HERS, UNTAMED COMING OUT SOON IN AUDIO!

Hi everyone! I’m so excited I don’t know which way around to start this post. The important date maybe? Yeah, that’s good. The audiobook edition of Hers, Untamed is coming out on December 15th 2021. Yay! 😀

Currently available for pre-order on Google, BingeBooks, Apple, Chirp, and Libro FM with more retailers to follow soon.

And wow, this has been long in the making…

Since Hers, Untamed is told entirely from one (female) point of view, I decided to narrate it myself because why not. It seemed like a good idea. I thought narrating books was EASY! Just buy a good microphone and get started.

Uh, yeah.

On afterthought, writing a book is easier than reading one aloud.

I quickly discovered an infinite number of ways I could mess up reading my own book. I know every single word in it, yet I still messed up the word order, omitted words, or inserted wrong words by accident. Other issues included reading too fast, reading too slowly, my voice being off, the sound clipping because I accidentally breathed into the microphone, etc. etc.

Re-recording and editing took a long time, and it didn’t help that writing new stories is my priority, so this audiobook became an infinity project that I only worked on when I wasn’t writing.

It was a fun challenge though, and I’m proud of the result. I hope you listeners are going to enjoy it too!

Below is a five-minute sample (originally published here in my blog in August 2020):

Alyssa’s new pet has just been delivered to her apartment… 😉

In case you’re wondering about my (hopefully very small) accent, I’m Finnish (born and raised in Finland), and despite my best efforts to hide my accent under something broadly North American-sounding, I don’t always succeed.

Anyway, if you want to listen to me read aloud to you, or if you’ve in general been eager to have Hers, Untamed in audiobook edition, December 15th 2021 is the big day!

My other books will also come out in audiobook format later on, but I’ll hire professional narrators for them. My self-narrating experience taught me that while fun, it simply takes too long, and I’d rather direct all my focus on writing.

AND SPEAKING OF WRITING

I’m working on new books! I have a contemporary romance under works, as well as the next scifi romance in the Silenia-universe. I hope to get them both out in 2022, so stay tuned.

HERS, TIMES TWO IS OUT

I’m excited to announce that my new, steamy science fiction romance Hers, Times Two is now available, and it’s only 0.99 USD during the first week!

Hers, Times Two coverLiz, ready to take on Jackal and Zaster. 😉

Two fierce males. One tough woman.

But are they strong enough to confess their love?

Space pilot Eliza Arroyo Diaz has a mad crush on two of her crew mates, but judging by their reserved behavior, the feeling is not mutual. She doesn’t dare confess that she fantasizes about a three-way relationship with them. And even if the guys were somehow open to the idea, Liz has secrets that could cause her dismissal from the crew if they were found out.

Zaster and Jackal are obsessed with Liz, but they can’t bring themselves to tell her about it. What human woman would welcome the idea of a Crasnian alien and a human-alien hybrid wanting to share her, body and soul?

But as Liz seems to spend a lot of time with Rogue, the ship’s medic, Zaster and Jackal struggle to keep their distance. Can they find a connection with their chosen mate, or will the ghosts of the past ruin their chance for a happy end?

Note to reader: This is a steamy science fiction romance featuring action, suspense, and intense love scenes between the three main characters. It’s the fourth book in a series but can be read as a standalone. HEA guaranteed! If you enjoy hot romance involving not one but two beefy aliens, this might be the book for you!

Available at Amazon, Apple Books, Google Play, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Vivlio.

To celebrate the new release, I’ve put the whole series on discount until June 7th, 2021. Book 1 is free, and Books 2-4 are 0.99 USD each. The prices in the international stores are discounted based on the US price.

So if you’re new to the series and looking for some very steamy scifi romance, now’s a good time to get them all for a good price!

Hers, Times Two was my first time writing a threesome – Liz, Jackal, and Zaster talked me into it – but it definitely won’t be the last. Despite the challenge of balancing three characters, I enjoyed it so much that I’ll want to do this again. My main focus will remain on M/F-pairings, though.

This series is not over yet! I’m currently plotting Hers #5, where we’ll be back on Silenia with new characters. I hope you’ll stay tuned. 😉

HERS, TIMES TWO: FIRST CHAPTER

My steamy MFM Scifi Romance Hers, Times Two will be coming out on May 31st 2021, and I’m very excited to share the first chapter with you!

It’s about 2,600 words, which is a bit more than I would normally put into Chapter 1, but since the book as a whole is a notch longer than what I usually write, I guess it fits. 😉

Hers, Times Two cover image

Liz accelerated through the asteroid belt, green rays from the pursuing spaceship shooting past them.

“Watch out!” Jax yelled, as an enormous asteroid rotated toward them.

“I am watching out, no worries,” Liz replied, adrenaline thudding in her veins. She cranked the controls, and the Vixen ducked under the asteroid, avoiding a head-on collision by an inch.

“The merchandise took a hit,” Alyssa, Jax’s woman, reported from the seat behind Liz.

By merchandise she meant the wreck of a spaceship the Vixen was hauling. The valuable raw materials were the reason why they were under fire. The rival space scavengers were prepared to kill for the loot.

Jax groaned. “Damn it, Liz, every dent you put on it decreases the value.”

“Who gives a damn about the merch?” she tossed at the captain. “I’m trying to keep them from putting dents into us!”

The lives of her friends were in her hands. As the pilot, it was Liz’s job to get their asses to safety. Green rays clipped at the Vixen’s tail.

“You haven’t shaken them yet,” Jax observed.

“I know, I know.”

“The weapons still aren’t responding,” Alyssa said, her voice anxious, flicking through her screens. “They should be online by now. The connection must be fried.”

Liz gritted her teeth. “Fine, we’ll do without weapons.”

“You better slow down or the engine will blow,” Zaster’s deep voice spoke into her earpiece from the engine room.

The sound of his voice sent a shiver down her spine, although Liz kept her focus on flying. Instead of slowing down, she sped up.

“Never mind, Zaster, Liz can probably do without an engine as well,” Jax replied, exasperated.

“You hired me to fly this baby, Cap,” Liz returned. “I’m just doing my job.”

“The Vixen is falling apart.”

“We’ll be fine.” This part of the asteroid belt had too much space. She frantically searched for a tighter corner.

There!

“We can’t outrun them.”

“Of course we can.” She raised her voice to address everyone, “Hold onto something.” She put the Vixen into a nosedive toward a dense cluster of asteroids.

The rival ship followed, firing mercilessly. Liz kept accelerating, darting into ever smaller spaces between the enormous boulders.

“Goddamn it, Liz,” Jax muttered.

“We’ll be fine,” she assured him.

“You’re gonna fucking kill us.”

“I can handle this obstacle course, but I bet they can’t.”

As if on cue, the pursuing ship smashed into an asteroid and veered off course, spinning. Liz saw on the radar the frantic maneuvers of the pilot trying to bring the ship back under control. The collision hadn’t been big enough to pulverize the pursuers, but the damage they took would keep the suckers busy long enough for the Vixen to limp away with the loot and jump to their destination: Taraseba Scavenger Colony.

Liz slowed down and glanced at the others. Next to her, Jax loosened his grip on the armrests and checked the ship’s status. Behind them, Alyssa pushed hair from her face. “Did we lose them?”

“They’re busy for a while.” Liz guided the ship under the cover of a bigger asteroid to allow the engines a second to cool. “Next, we clear the asteroid belt and jump out of here.”

Alyssa let out a breathless laugh. “That’s the best idea I’ve heard all day.”

Jax tapped his earpiece. “Zaster, Jackal, how’s the engine?”

“Not good, but it hasn’t blown up yet,” Jackal replied, his gritty voice making a shiver run over Liz’s skin. “What happened?”

“Liz shook off the pursuers,” Jax replied. “Is Zaster okay?”

“Busy plugging a leak. He’s fine.”

“How’s the wormhole generator?”

“Functioning, same as the jump drive. We can jump, but only if the engine holds.”

Jax nodded at Liz. “All right, I’ll take over. You and Alyssa, go see how bad the damage is.”

Liz surrendered the pilot seat to Jax. She turned to Alyssa who had also gotten up and straightened her clothes. The blond Silenian beamed at her. “Whew, that was exciting. I’m all shaky now.”

“I hope I didn’t scare you.”

“Oh no, I’m great,” Alyssa assured her. “Awesome flying. Better than any ride in a virtual park. Let’s go see how the guys are doing below.”

They headed toward the engine room. Alyssa was the ship’s designated engineer, and she was already examining her favorite gadget: a handheld device that controlled the maintenance bots. Liz knew about ship repairs, too, but didn’t mind taking the backseat in the matter. It was nice to have another human woman around, even though Alyssa came from Silenia, which represented a different culture to Liz’s Earth. Liz also didn’t mind the captain ordering her to check on Zaster and Jackal. The thought of the two men caused her pulse to flutter, although the sensation was laced with the disappointing knowledge that they’d never feel the same way about her.

“So, what exactly do you have to do on Taraseba?” she asked Alyssa, seeking a distraction. “Captain told me you want to go planetside.”

There was no need for Alyssa to join the supply run; she could remain on the Vixen in orbit. The other crew members would divide the tasks of selling the scavenged goods at the space station and fetching supplies from the planet.

“I want to tell the local hybrids about Silenia,” Alyssa replied.

Silenia was an isolated human colony that supplied Earth with various mined metals. Liz never knew anything unusual went on there before Jax and Alyssa told her the colonists abducted humanoid aliens and hybrids from space and kept them as pets. A recent revolution had deemed the practice illegal, and Silenia was now in a state of change.

“My people are eager to meet new hybrids,” Alyssa went on. “They want consensual relationships now, and they’re willing to pay a lot of money for it. So maybe some of the Taraseban hybrids will want to visit Silenia for sex and money.”

Liz gave her a wary look. “I don’t know about that. You know how suspicious hybrids are of humans.”

“Yeah, of course.”

“And Jax thinks it’s safe for you to go down there?”

“He says the risk is within reason.”

Liz remained skeptical. “Hybrids have been screwed over so many times that the ones on Taraseba probably wouldn’t listen to what you have to say, even if you paid them.”

“Well, I have to try.” A small frown clouded Alyssa’s usually bright expression. “Chase is convinced there are hybrids like him out there who’d want to have sex with Silenians. He asked me to look for them because Silenia’s reputation being what it is, they’re going to stay away otherwise.”

“The people we’ll encounter on Taraseba will be like the ones who just chased us.” Liz hadn’t visited Taraseba before, but she had seen enough hybrid colonies to know what to expect. “Rough. And pissed.”

Alyssa only shrugged. Liz couldn’t help but be impressed with how the promise of big, armed, and bad-tempered hybrids failed to intimidate the Silenian woman. Liz wasn’t intimidated, either, but for different reasons: she had combat training. Alyssa was only armed with positive attitude.

Maybe I could use some positivity, too.

When they reached the cargo bay, a hatch in the floor opened. Jackal and Zaster crawled out of it amidst a cloud of steam. The Wolfman hybrid and the Crasnian were sweaty and covered in grime. Liz forgot to breathe as she glimpsed Jackal’s bare, muscular arms. The way they flexed and bulged as he pushed himself up made it impossible to look away.

“Why didn’t you use the door?” Alyssa called out to them.

“It’s jammed,” Jackal replied. “Among other things. You have to take a look.”

Liz hung back as Alyssa went to talk to the guys. Her presence wouldn’t be welcomed, and she appreciated the opportunity to admire their physiques while their attention was elsewhere. She leaned her forearm against a steel beam and let her gaze wander.

Zaster wore a dark green jumpsuit, dirty and worn in places, but for some reason the guys only looked hotter the dirtier they were. He was Crasnian. Typical for his species, he was tall—the tallest guy on the crew—and his body resembled something cast out of bronze. He was bald, which accentuated his statue-like appearance, bringing out his well-formed cheekbones and broad jaw. Like all Crasnians, he had red eyes. Liz couldn’t decide whether his eye color reminded her of jewels or of blood. He was quiet but intelligent. Jax named him second-in-command after Chase Decker ran off because Zaster was level-headed and reliable in an intimidating kind of way. The thought of being face-to-face with him in some tight corner caused her pulse to quicken.

Wishful thinking.

She admired his profile as he talked to Alyssa about the repairs.

Her gaze slid over to Jackal and her heart jolted. He was pulling off his grimy tank top, revealing washboard abs. She swallowed as her gaze roamed over his muscular frame with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. Jackal was a hybrid with human and Wolfman blood, and while he resembled human, there was something attractively savage about his appearance, inherited from his alien ancestors. The shock of dark hair on his head was thicker than that of an average man. The same color hair covered his chest and forearms, and his jaw bore a sexy stubble. Liz knew he also had a tail, furry like that of a wolf, although he kept it tucked down the leg of his loose cargo pants, out of sight. She wished he wouldn’t hide it. It was part of him, and she found everything about him attractive. His eyes under the bushy eyebrows were the color of quicksilver. Unlike his quiet, controlled friend, Jackal was more open and talkative.

Zaster and Jackal were inseparable. They always worked together if given a choice, and no one would ever want to get on their bad side. In a fight, they were a force to be reckoned with. They didn’t share a room though. Liz knew they preferred women, but neither seemed to be committed to anyone. She entertained a hope that they were looking for someone special, and maybe, just maybe, she could be that someone.

But which one do I want, Zaster or Jackal?

She had been obsessing over them for so long she wasn’t sure when it started. Perhaps when they first met, although the situation had been the opposite of romantic.

Now, seeing them together reinforced her suspicion that she actually didn’t want to choose between them. In her secret dreams she wanted them both, but surely she was being ridiculous? Unlike her, Zaster and Jackal had their shit together. She wasn’t worthy of even one of them, let alone both, so she should just get over her mad fantasy.

She tore her gaze away from Jackal’s bare upper body and found Zaster gazing at her.

Shit.

She straightened her spine. Zaster didn’t say anything, merely observed her while Alyssa and Jackal had an animated discussion over Alyssa’s gadget. Jackal didn’t seem aware of Liz. His focus was on Alyssa, their conversation punctuated by laughter.

Zaster hardly ever displayed facial expressions, but Liz could feel the weight of judgment and disapproval radiating off of him as he looked at her. She wanted to turn around and leave, but good crew members didn’t walk away from each other that way. Since she couldn’t hide in the shadows anymore, she braced herself and joined them.

“Sorry about the jostle,” she said to Zaster, trying to sound relaxed and confident even though she felt as if she were walking on thin ice. “I had to shake off the pursuer. Are you guys okay?”

Now, Jackal also turned his attention to her. For a second, both men were staring at her in a way that made her feel like an intruder.

“Yeah, we’re fine,” Jackal said, his tone dropping to neutral, different from the warm, friendly tone he had used with Alyssa. Zaster didn’t speak, only gave a near-imperceptible nod.

Liz swallowed, breaking into a light sweat. “All right,” she said. “I just wanted to hear it from you. The captain took over the pilot seat. Is there anything I can do to help here?”

“No,” Zaster replied.

Liz looked at the pillar of smoke rising through the open hatch from the engine room. They wouldn’t want my help even if their lives depended on it.

“You sure?” she asked.

“We’ve got this,” Jackal replied. “Alyssa’s sending her robots in. No need for you to get your hands dirty.”

As if I give a fuck about getting dirty.

Giving up, Liz shrugged. “Okay. See you later, Alyssa.”

“Yeah, later,” Alyssa replied in a cheery but distracted tone, focused on her gadget.

Liz walked away, looking forward to hiding in her quarters. Of course they disliked her. Why wouldn’t they, considering their history together? Why couldn’t she just accept that and move on with her life?

“Hey, uh, Liz,” Jackal called after her.

She turned to face him in surprise. The hybrid was wiping his grimy hands with a rag and Liz tried not to think about how alluring those hands looked. Big, capable hands…the mere thought of them touching her made her ache with longing.

“Will you come to the gym with us later?” he asked, nodding at Zaster. “I need someone to be a referee while we spar.”

Even more surprised, Liz asked, “Is that so?”

“Yeah. I can’t deal with Zaster anymore. The asshole cheats if there’s no referee.”

“I do not cheat,” Zaster remarked.

“Yeah you do,” Jackal returned. “Every chance you get.”

Zaster didn’t reply, but the corner of his mouth curled up slightly.

“So, will you come?” Jackal asked her. “If you’re not doing anything this evening, come watch me beat the shit out of a smug Crasnian.”

They actually want me in the same room with them?

She was about to say yes when a slicing pain went through her temple. Somehow, she managed not to wince. She wished she could prolong the conversation. Getting to see Zaster and Jackal in nothing but shorts, sparring, was something straight out of her fantasies—simply talking to Jackal about it was exciting. The men hardly ever spoke to her even though they were on friendly terms with everyone else on the ship. Liz was starved for their attention, but she could feel her hand beginning to tremble. A ghostly pain crept into her bones.

I need to see Rogue.

“Sure, okay,” she said to Jackal, cringing at her quick, anxious tone.

That sounded the opposite of delighted.

Worse yet, Jackal picked up on it. His expression grew hesitant. “I don’t want to bother you if you have other plans.”

“No, no, it’s fine,” she said, trying to sound convincing while backing away from him. “What time?”

“Uh. Six-ish?”

“That’s good.” Cold ache spread through her skull. She pressed her fingers to her temple. She had to get to the medbay before it got worse.

Jackal frowned. “Everything all right?”

“I have to take care of something. Talk to you later, okay?”

Liz pivoted and strode off. She knew what kind of impression she must have given and wanted to kick herself.

The one time they asked me to do something for them and I have to run away…

Of course she would go into withdrawal at the worst possible time; that was how the universe seemed to work. She was aware of Zaster and Jackal watching her and forced herself to walk, even though she wanted to run.

COVER REVEAL: HERS, TIMES TWO

Hi everyone! I’m thrilled to show you the red, hot and sparkly cover of my new steamy scifi romance novel, Hers, Times Two! Take a look:

Hers, Times Two cover imageLiz, ready to take on Jackal and Zaster.

This eye candy was created by the amazingly talented Melody Simmons at Bookcoverscre8tive.com.

Two fierce males. One tough woman.

But are they strong enough to confess their love?

Space pilot Eliza Arroyo Diaz has a mad crush on two of her crew mates, but judging by their reserved behavior, the feeling is not mutual. She doesn’t dare to confess that she fantasizes about a three-way relationship with them.

Hers, Times Two will be published on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, Apple Books, and Kobo on May 31st 2021.

I’m so excited! Liz, Jackal and Zaster were my first venture into a romance between three people. It was delightfully challenging – especially the steamy scenes. In some of them there were three people present, which is, uh, one more than I’m used to.

How to make sure that everyone got equal amount of action without drowning the scene in descriptions was a balancing act. I had to revise a lot from the first draft, but the whole process was so much fun that this will definitely not be my last MFM romance! 😉

HIS HOSTAGE NOW MORE WIDELY AVAILABLE

I’m excited to announce that my steamy contemporary kidnap romance His Hostage is now available on multiple retailers instead of being exclusive to Amazon!

His Hostage cover image

Evelyn is trapped in an unhappy marriage with Jack Moorland, the impotent heir to a software fortune. Her husband treats her with nothing but contempt, but Evelyn lacks the confidence to leave him—and he has no intention of letting her go.

Then one fateful night, she accidentally trades her prison for another when she catches an intruder in the act and he takes her captive to make his getaway.

Her kidnapper, the rough-mannered Hal, terrifies her at first. But when she realizes this intimidating stranger treats her better than her so-called husband…and he has feelings for her…Evelyn’s resentment turns into desire. Hal was supposed to hold her hostage only until he was sure of his escape…but after things turn steamy between the kidnapper and his victim, will he ever want to release her?

Note to reader: This is a standalone contemporary romance novel featuring a lot of action, suspense and steamy love scenes between the main characters. Recommended for mature readers. If you enjoy your romance hot with a taste of thriller, this might be what you’re looking for!

When I published this book – my debut novel! man, that was so special. 😀 – in 2016, I thought I’d give it a three-month run on Amazon’s exclusive Kindle Unlimited before publishing it on other retailers as well.

It turns out His Hostage had a decent amount of readers on KU, so three months became six months, which became nine months, after which I stopped counting. Plotting and writing the Hers-series kept me busy, and Evie’s story was doing fine on KU, so I left it there for quite a long time. The reads were slowly going down though, and this year I figured it no longer pays off to keep it there.

I want to say thank you to all the amazing, wonderful readers who picked up His Hostage on Kindle Unlimited over the past four and a half years! <3 The majority of my author’s income during that time came from you people turning the pages, and even though we’re not talking about huge sums here (more like pocket money), it helped me publish more books. I love you!

Ultimately, I want all my books published on all the major retailers, so I’m very happy now that His Hostage has joined my other works in being more widely available.

As of now, you can find it on the following retailers:

Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I8SLVPI/

Apple Books: https://books.apple.com/us/book/id1559447872

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/books/details?id=VfUkEAAAQBAJ

Barnes&Noble: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/his-hostage-anna-adler/1139084522?ean=2940165251580

Kobo: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/his-hostage-2

Vivlio: https://shop.vivlio.com/product/9783947471089_9783947471089_10020

That’s that. A goal from 2016 accomplished. 😀

LAST CHANCE TO READ HIS HOSTAGE ON KINDLE UNLIMITED

Hi everyone! My debut novel, His Hostage, will be leaving Kindle Unlimited on March 20th, 2021. That is, in a few days. If you love hot contemporary kidnap romance, and you prefer to read on Kindle Unlimited, now is your last chance to grab it!

His Hostage has been on Kindle Unlimited (meaning, published exclusively on Amazon and available through their ebook subscription service) since its publication in 2016, but I decided it’s finally time for a change. Soon after March 20th, in addition to Amazon, it’ll be published also through Google Play, Apple Books, Barnes&Noble, and Kobo.

I’ll make a new post with the links once the book is available on the other retailers.

IN OTHER NEWS, I’m currently finishing up the next book in my science fiction romance series.

Hers, Times Two (Hers #4) will be coming out before the summer. As you can guess from the title, the heroine will be dealing with not one but TWO sexy aliens. This is my first time writing a steamy romantic threesome and it’s been a fun challenge – please note that it’s NOT a triangle drama where a woman has to choose between two men. Nope. She gets them both, which is what the guys want too, so there will be a happy ending for everyone involved. 😀

Stay tuned for a cover reveal in the near future…

After Hers #4, I intend to finally get some more contemporary romance out! I’ve been meaning to publish another sexy kidnap romance ever since His Hostage, but for some reason it just hasn’t happened yet.

I’m working on it though. Really, I am. There will be more contemporary action coming, and I can’t wait to tell you more about it!
