Short Story Release!

Two years ago I mentioned that I had some short stories in the works. One thing after another happened, and they never got published. But that changes now. At least, for one of them. :) About the book: Seven-year-old Harper’s biggest concern isn’t that she has cancer. Or even that her diseased leg was just amputated. She’s worried about getting well enough to see the purple bedroom her daddy...

Changing Seasons

It’s been a minute since I did a life update here on the blog. I’ve missed you all! Here’s a little update on life and adulting and writing and all the things. Learning to be an adult is hard. It’s time-consuming, it’s stressful, and it requires making a lot of mistakes in order to grow. I started this blog when I was 15, when my only responsibilities were high school...

Left to Die 2nd Edition Released!

After a very long, slow process, I’m so excited to finally announce that my darling little contemporary novella, Left to Die, has been updated, re-formatted, and it’s now available for purchase! The book also got a facelift, mostly because the first cover just didn’t fit the story as well as it could. I absolutely adore the new cover with such a sweet baby face! Isn’.

Diamonds 2020 Conference

Last year, I found a sweet young lady who was putting together a FREE online conference for chronically ill Christians. I eagerly signed up, desperately needing some encouragement from others who “got it.” Not only did the conference bless me in so many ways–it was so professional and well done. And guess what? The conference is even bigger this year! I am so blessed and excited...

Here are some blog posts from my sweet friends! Go read and comment!

Rebekah @ Read Another Page

Liv K. Fisher

If you haven’t already, please, pLeAsE, PLEASE go over to Amazon and copy your review on the old page (with Ivy Rose) to the new listing (with Hailey Rose). I know we authors sound like broken records about the whole Amazon review thing, but seriously, guys, we wouldn’t ask for them if it weren’t such a big deal! So please, if you have a few moments, I would greatly appreciate it if you could post your review to the new listing!

Republishing My Debut Novel

Frens!!!! It’s been too long!!! How are you all!?! I’ve been able to connect with most of you on other social media platforms, but I miss those of you who aren’t over there!

Today isn’t about how long I’ve been gone or what I’ve been doing…it’s a special announcement!

I’m republishing my debut novel, The Old River Road.

Yep, you read that right. TORR is getting a do-over! With the pen-name-change fiasco, there was a lot of confusion regarding ISBN numbers and the legalities of it all. *headdesk* (Don’t change your pen name. Just don’t.)

There were some things I wanted to include in the first edition that I didn’t end up having time to include, so this name-change-necessitated redo was a great opportunity to add those things! I can’t wait for you guys to see the new content!

When this book was first published 3 years ago on my 18th birthday, I was a newbie in the indie-author world and had a LOT to learn. I’m far from a pro now, but I’ve learned a few things that will make my life (and yours) a whole lot easier for future book releases.

On July 8th, 2019, the second edition of The Old River Road will be released!

We’re going to have a birthday/release bash for TORR! I want to release this book the right way, and I need your help to do that.

If you would be interested in doing a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or blog post about The Old River Road between July 1st and 14th, I would appreciate it so much! You can post on whatever day you like, on whatever platform you want. This is going to be a lowkey party because I want to make it as easy as possible for everyone involved. All posts will be pre-written for you to copy and paste if you so desire.

In case you haven’t seen it yet, here is the (updated) blurb:

When seventeen-year-old Clara Boutwell married her dashing coworker, William McDonald, she was convinced her life was nearly perfect. For newlyweds in the great city of Chicago, the journey ahead was exciting and promising. When a frightening disease takes William in its grip, the young couple is forced to the clean air of the western frontier in a desperate attempt to save his life. On the eastern Washington prairies, the McDonalds face hardships and trials in a new world where everything is tested, from physical endurance to emotional strength—down to their relationship and faith in the Lord.

This novel tells the incredible true story of Clara and William, the great-great grandparents of the author, in a sweet narrative full of laughter, tears, and the struggles of an early pioneering family. Prepare yourself to share in their experience as you read this account of a pioneer family in Washington state, and see their lasting legacy that has endured into the fifth generation.

There are more details and the info to sign up here!

How many of you were on the original release team?

Happy New Year 2019!

I’m so excited to be starting a new year. 2018 was such a full, wonderful year of growth and learning and I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store.

One of my favorite things to do at the end of the year is count up all of the books I got. So just like last year, I made a video featuring all of those beautiful books!!! You can find it on my YouTube Channel or down below.

What was a favorite book you got in 2018?

#VlogMo 2018

I interrupt this NaNoWriMo to remind you of a thing called VlogMo. (I made it up. ;) )

#VlogMo is just like NaNo, but video-style! Crazy, I know, but it’s been totally awesome!!!

I’m daily vlogging for the entire month of November (instead of NaNo because #fulltimejob, #fulltimestudent is a thing -_- ). Guess what? Vlogging is SO MUCH FUN!!! But the month is almost over, so if you want a glimpse into my bizarre life/schedule, go check out my YouTube Channel.

I know that you blog readers aren’t always fans of the video world. I get it. There are different digital platform options available for a reason. :) However, the video media world seems to be a better fit for me, so most future updates, news, and posts will be in video form over on YT. If you’re interested in keeping up with what I’m doing, fun vlogs, and of course writing/publishing updates, click that subscribe button to get the videos delivered to your feed!

How is NaNo going for all you crazies who are doing it??? (seriously tho, major props.) For those of you who are sane ;) , how is your month going?

Changing My Pen Name?! (Yes, I’m Crazy)

Hello beautiful peoples!!!

I have some news to share.

First of all, Ivy Rose is not my real name. It’s a pen name and I love it and I love writing under a pen name. But I’ve grown up a lot from the fifteen-year-old who chose that name, and with life’s inevitable changing seasons, it’s time for a change.

Why am I doing this crazy insane thing?

I explain all the reasons and thinking behind this in this video:

What is my new pen name?

If you watched the video, you already know. (but I know you didn’t. -_-)

My new pen name isn’t a pen name at all, it’s my real name!

Hailey Rose

If you want to know reasons and why I didn’t just go with this in the first place, WATCH THE VIDEO. It ‘splains everything.

In the next few weeks, my social handles are going to change to reflect my new name. But I’m not starting over–just changing the name. Hopefully the transition will be seamless and easy. And you get to see my new author headshots, so that’s cool, right??

Talk to me.

What do you think of the change? Do you have any questions?
