Quotes by Shane Clements  (?)

“The Culture of Ministry Burnout To make matters worse, many pastors are struggling themselves. They labor under the pressure to preach every week, lead staff, manage finances, oversee counseling, attend events, visit the sick, answer emails, and maintain their own spiritual life—all while being “on” 24/7. It’s no wonder that burnout, depression, and even suicidal ideation are rising among clergy.”
Shane Clements, Fear Thou Not: 12 Biblical Truths for Mental Well-Being

“When people view the Church as a provider of spiritual goods and services, they can become consumers who are always looking for the next best thing. This can lead to a lack of commitment and investment in the Church and its mission. People come and go as they please, without ever truly becoming part of the community.”
Shane Clements, Transformed by Mission: Embracing Our Identity as the Body and Bride of Christ

“It amazes me that we are all on Twitter and Facebook. By "we" I mean adults. We're adults, right? But emotionally we're a culture of seven-year-olds. Have you ever had that moment when are you updating your status and you realize that every status update is just a variation on a single request: "Would someone please acknowledge me?”
Marc Maron, Attempting Normal

“The purpose of your life is the purpose you bring to it choice by choice and recognition by recognition.”
Bryant McGill, Simple Reminders: Inspiration for Living Your Best Life

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”
Oscar Wilde

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”
Marcus Tullius Cicero

“Without music, life would be a mistake.”
Friedrich Nietzsche, Twilight of the Idols
