Elizabeth Clor is an endurance athlete who runs competitively at all distances from the 5K to the marathon. She made the transition from treadmill/fitness runner to road racing in 2005 when she unexpectedly won first place at her college reunion 2-mile race. Since then, she has run over 100 races (including 20 marathons), and was ranked 6th in her age group for the Washington, D.C. metro area in 2015 by Washington Running Report.

She graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in English Language and Literature and is a full-time marketing professional. She authors the popular running blog Racing Stripes and is a regular contributor to various running publications, including the Athlinks Blog.

Congratulations! I wonder why this book wasn’t written sooner? I know this is not a fair questions to ask you. Congratulations on your journey and success. I’m a soccer player that loves to run (with runners), so I know the quest for Boston is on many peoples' minds. I expect your book will sell well, and I’ve added it to my want to read list. I also think this will make a good gift for running friends.

But if you are asking why nobody has written a book like this, I think it's because it's difficult to articulate the mental aspects of running and all the emotions that go along with trying to achieve a goal. I've read quite a few blogs from people trying to qualify for Boston, but I haven't seen a single work that captures the full journey to Boston from start to finish. Looking forward to reading your book in the near future. I do believe that we do have those mental roadblocks when it comes to meeting our full potential. However do you feel that there can be physical limitations such as just plain getting older and the legs just not cooperating the way you think they should be?

I think the key is to maximize whatever your physical potential is without your mind stopping you. When I'm in my 50's, I don't expect to be running at fast as I am now, but I hope that I'll be able to run to the fullest extent of my physical abilities at that time, and not get frustrated that I've slowed with age. From Zero to Marathon: Indy Monumental Marathon Recap

I chose the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon as my fall goal race because it is a fast course with
