February Freebie, 99 Cent Deal, and Book News!

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend! It is very cold and snowy up here by Lake Erie (ice!) but I am keeping warm with work on my 2018 releases, including The Competition. The details of this story have been kept under wraps for months, but were finally released this past week:

And you may have noticed that the first book in my Cliff Walk Courtships series, Throne of Grace, is FREE. Over 3000 (!) readers have downloaded their copy in the past ten days - don't miss the chance to get yours for FREE.

Last but not least - Reckless Treasure is only 99 cents this month. This is a sort of anti-Valentine's Day gift to readers, and if you've read Reckless Treasure, you know exactly what I mean. Warning: if you're looking for that Cliff Walk Courtships happy ending, you won't find it here. Unless . . . well, I guess that depends on your idea of a happy ending.

Oh, that wasn't last - I think I need more coffee - if you are a member of my street team over on Facebook, stay tuned for a LOT of giveaways on Valentine's Day. Charms, earrings, a necklace, and 7 books (not mine, but physical books, some ARCs) will be up for grabs. If you aren't a member, you can join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/13117...

I hope to see you there!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

That Night - Only 99 Cents!

My YA realistic drama, That Night, is 99 cents! Not sure how long it will be on sale, but it is available from all ebook retailers at this low price. Reviewers have said it is a good fit for readers of Thirteen Reasons Why and Before I Fall.

What are reviewers saying about That Night? The most recent review:

"Loss is difficult to deal with. Everyone must choose their own path toward acceptance, and that path is never an easy one. This book follows that path for three friends, trying to make sense of their friend’s untimely death, and how that affects them for the rest of their lives.
This novel is rich in retrospection and internal conflict. It explores the emotions and understanding of support, acceptance, and building a new life after trauma.

I appreciated the flash-back method of telling the backstory. Sometimes it was a little difficult to keep track of the timeline, but not so difficult as to mar the story.

I feel as if this novel could be incredibly useful in helping young adults deal with their grief in this day of senseless violence and sudden loss. Recent upsurges in opioid addictions, school shootings, and other tragedies have highlighted the need of work such as this. Through art, pain can be healed."

The Library War - Cover Sneak Peek

One of my regular teen readers, Courtney, is already wanting to know when my next YA, The Library War, will release. She told me that she read The Competition as soon as it hit her Kindle early Tuesday morning and is in love with both Michael and Raiden.

Well, I wish I could write them as fast as she can read them!

Here is a sneak peek at the cover of The Library War, which should show up next fall. You can add it to your Goodreads to-read shelf now.
