Ten years ago, on 18 April 2014, sixteen Sherpas died in an avalanche while carrying loads through Everest’s infamous Khumbu Icefall. One of them—Pasang Karma Sherpa—was working for my company, Jagged Globe. Soon after the avalanche my wife Rossy and I visited his widow and her three children.

You need to be a climber to fully appreciate this book. For those who climbed during the 1970s, it’s a riveting insight into the life of Tobin Sorensen, whose achievements have become legendary.
