Hendrix clearly has a lot of love, and some fair grievances, for the slasher genre. In this book he creates a perfect murder-mystery worthy of the best entries in the genres, and takes time to correct a few wrongs in the classics.

“We have an image to uphold, and that image is plausible deniability that we’re even open.”
Elford Alley, Ash and Bone: Tales of Terror

“She hoped there was no long journey or clouds with halos and harps. People deserve rest, they deserve to forget their hurts and let go of those pains. How could you exist in heaven? How could anyone let go of the pain and loss suffered on earth, and enjoy eternity? She always wondered. She always feared.”
