David rated a book it was amazing Who's There? (The Time Police) by Jodi Taylor (Goodreads Author)	Error rating book. Refresh and try again. Rate this book Clear rating 1 of 5 stars 2 of 5 stars 3 of 5 stars 4 of 5 stars 5 of 5 stars
No long review on this one as it’s only a short story and I don’t want to spoil anything, but genuinely scary and genuinely gave me nightmares!

A decent four stars from me. The narrative style reminded me of a grown-up Peppa Pig. Osman slips little jokes into the narration, then the characters echo them back a few lines later. It sounds odd, but it works, and it gives the book a warm, playfu ...more

I’m trying to read the Christie novels in order, and I’m convinced I’ll eventually hit the point where she runs out of ideas, but this is not that book. I can absolutely imagine Christie sitting at her typewriter and having a sudden epiphany: “What i ...more

David rated a book it was amazing A Family Affair by Jodi Taylor (Goodreads Author)	Error rating book. Refresh and try again. Rate this book Clear rating 1 of 5 stars 2 of 5 stars 3 of 5 stars 4 of 5 stars 5 of 5 stars
Both me and my wife are massive Jodi Taylor fans, we go to the cons and events and are in all the right facebook and Whatsapp groups. So I don't think this is an entirely unbiased review. I also can't comment on whether this is the right "first book" ...more

I re-read Abba's Child recently, almost twenty-five years after first reading it in my early twenties. At the time, I was caught in the idea that serving God meant staying busy for God. There was always another task to complete, another responsibility ...more
