I am now a Professional Author.

Okay, okay, so it might be early to say that but, you know what? I'm saying it anyway. I'm a PROFESSIONAL AUTHOR. I have been published in a periodical that pays me something. I have been published period. I am a professional.

For those of you who don't know me, Hi! My name is Byron. I live in Kansas City, MO, home of the world's greatest barbecue and the best team in baseball. I enjoy anime, NPR, and Nintendo products. In another life I was Paul Giamatti.

I only have one story published so far. It is called GIGANTE SALVAJE and it is in Werewolves Versus Music which is out this month. You should real all of the Werewolves Versus publications because they're jam packed full of great stories and art, plus they feature werewolves and that's terrific. I LOVE werewolves. They are my favorite!

While I write about werewolves a lot, they're just one part of the modern fantasy I love. Magic smartphones. Sorcerers who work at the DMV. Monsters who live next door without a glamour and are your very best neighbors (because it's the mundane humans who really want to kill you.) All of that is for me.

I also have an obsession with pop culture. It's one thing to participate in it but I love to put that pop culture into my stories. Sometimes I call what I do "pop deconstruction" but that's really pretentious. I am pretentious. It's not a great thing but it really isn't bad. I'm working on living up to my pretense. We'll see how that works out. The main thing is that I like to put media in my media.

This is the beginning for me, professionally. I'm embarrassed to say I don't know when I'll have more work out. I am working on a larger project that I can't talk about now but I'm excited about it. That's all I'll say. If it works out, you'll hear about it.

There are only a handful of you who will read this message when it first goes live. I hope to have many, many more people read it in the future. I hope to have a library of entertainments for you to enjoy. Please cheer me on whenever you read this. I'm looking forward to giving you a literary experience unlike any other.
