There are times when I'm sitting at my desk and I have absolutely no inspiration; I try hard to make sure these occurrences are rare. So, I'd sit, my mind would wander, and at the end of my work shift, typically noon, I'd look back and realize I wrote MAYBE 200 words. I just shrug my shoulders and say better luck tomorrow.
By the next day I have the memory of my wasted time and a chart with my goals and deadlines posted. My lack of inspiration lasts a single day and then I'm back to churning out over 1,000 words daily; which I track on a calendar near my desk.

Robin Hobb
“The second thing you have to do to be a writer is to keep on writing. Don't listen to people who tell you that very few people get published and you won't be one of them. Don't listen to your friend who says you are better that Tolkien and don't have to try any more. Keep writing, keep faith in the idea that you have unique stories to tell, and tell them. I meet far too many people who are going to be writers 'someday.' When they are out of high school, when they've finished college, after the wedding, when the kids are older, after I retire . . . That is such a trap You will never have any more free time than you do right now. So, whether you are 12 or 70, you should sit down today and start being a writer if that is what you want to do. You might have to write on a notebook while your kids are playing on the swings or write in your car on your coffee break. That's okay. I think we've all 'been there, done that.' It all starts with the writing. ”
Robin Hobb

Paul Kearney
“I have found that there are two ways of dealing with men. Either you treat them with respect, or you kill them. Anything in between merely breeds resentment and the desire for revenge.”
PAUL KEARNEY

Michael Pollan
“Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”
Michael Pollan, In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto

David Gemmell
“We make choices everyday, some of them good, some of them bad. And - if we are strong enough - we live with the consequences.”
David Gemmell

C.S. Lewis
“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”
C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves
