Originally from the sunny shores of Australia, Chris Harrison moved to the beer-filled heart of Bavaria many years ago. He arrived without knowing where he would be living, what exactly his new job involved, or even how to order dinner in German. Three days later his colleagues dragged him out to buy Lederhosen for Oktoberfest - before he knew it tourists were taking his photo and asking why he spoke such excellent English.

With a PhD in biochemistry, Dr Harrison has worked in drug discovery, as a scientific consultant, and as a regulatory affairs manager for a major international pharmaceutical company.
