PRELUDE released

C.A. Oliver announces the release of PRELUDE. This book acts as a prequel to the Songs of the Lost Islands series.
This story precedes that of 'An Act of Faith' by focusing on events which occurred in the Valley, 1,700 years before. The Valley hosts the shrine of all the Lost Islands’ faiths and the cities of four Elvin peoples. It is the prize of kingdoms and the battlefield of many clashes of civilizations. From the war of Giants and Deities to the making of the fabled swords of the Bladesmiths; from the fall of a meteorite to the coming of Lon the Wise, the Valley is the epic history of millennia of creeds and coexistence, curses and slaughter, the cause of an all-pervading obsession which haunts the minds.
How did this remote vale become the symbolic centre of the Lost Islands? How did the events of Year 1,000 LC irremediably influence the essence of Elvin mysticism?
PRELUDE is the story of the three days when the Valley became the Nargrond Valley and the unique place that exists twice in the minds of all Elves, in the material and ethereal worlds

The legends about the Elves are more relevant today than ever.

The ‘Songs of the Lost Islands’ series was written to be easily adapted to readers with different reading levels.
First and foremost, it is a Fantasy story, full of action, passion and adventure. The Heroic Fantasy fans are conveyed to an exciting trip with a group of characters into a highly developed imaginary world. The ideas of conformity to natural laws are fundamental to the cohesion of this imaginary world; nothing is left to chance, and the more deeply the reader probes into the ‘behind the scene’, the more finely-tuned he find it is. There are different plot lines that are based on the various characters features: ranging from mysticism and spirituality to the more common love and power themes. The storyline interweaves the elements of the different plots.
Second, the ambition is to bring back the art of narration in order to make it a spell-binding novel. Every detail needs to be culminating and significant so that readers feel like reading and rereading this novel, picking up new things each time that finally make sense later on. The format is close to an HBO series with each chapter being equivalent to an episode, and each book the equivalent to a season.
Last, what adds to the series appeal is its evocative dimension. It was built as a metaphoric mirror in which today’s world is reflected. The purpose is to develop the coherence of this imaginary world (The Lost islands), hoping to shake up the real world. In the SoLI series, there is no hypothetical fight between good and evil, but an ambition to narrate history through interactions between characters each with their personality, beliefs and obsessions. The sharp-eyed reader will have realized the parallel with the series plotlines and the threats of today’s world.
