I would do almost anything to play with my older sisters ,so when I was four and they told me I could not play school with them unless I learned to read and write, I did just that. I fell in love with letters, words and books.
Grandmother was the keeper of her family heirlooms, letters, journal and ephemera. I used to spend much time with her reading the letters and stories her father wrote. She and I explored her father's journal - a recording of her childhood. Best of all I loved to hear her personal memories of the same moment in time.
These hours together naturally led me into genealogy.

Catherine Stickann My husband, Richard Stickann, is getting ready to publish his second novel. I am so excited for it to come out. The title is Hobbledehoy Boy - - I will let you know when it will be released.
