The next book for Barn Town is Dawn at Barn Town. Look for it around end of April or the first of May, 2020. As we speak Anna is hard at work with the artwork and I am on the book’s the last chapter. YEA!!

Newest residents at Barn Town
We would like to introduce to you the newest residents of Barn Town.
Please welcome Spike and Spud!

Holstein calves can weigh 85-90 pounds at birth and can weigh 1500 pounds when full grown. Right now each boy get one-half gallon of milk twice a day. They also have grain and fresh water available. Our two “little” boys will become steers very soon and will be raised on grass with grain and hay supplemented. We are very excited to have Spike and Spud join our family.

Dr. Jen Lowry wrote a the Foreward for Barn Town and The Two-Eyed Hurricane and a very nice review in her monthly newsletter about our new book. Both, Anna and I thank her from the bottom of our hearts and lest I forget, so does Stripe and the residents of Barn Town.

It’s HERE!
Barn Town is all up in arms with what is happening across the road. Tearing up fences and massive changes are happening to the big red barn. Are new roosters moving in; is it a new lake for the ducks and geese? What is going on? Stripe is determined to get to the bottom of this new mystery that is happening right under his nose.

No Internet
We are going on one week with no phone service or internet service. NONE!
NO T.V.! NO MUSIC! My town just slipped back 100 years overnight.
Why? Massive software malfunction by AT&T. Drive 12 miles one way for a connection. Thank you Jesus for old fashion books of paper and ink.
Oh, how I miss my Google.

Fun Facts at Barn Town

1 – A rooster will start crowing at 2:30 a.m. (if the moon is bright) and crow off and on until dark that night. (We presently have 13 roosters at Barn Town.)
2 – Our Great Pyrenees will jump 2 to 3 feet off the ground into the air after hawks flying over Barn Town. Tasha will do this all day long to chase away the hawks. The hawks do leave and go fly elsewhere for a while and then return later in hopes of a chicken dinner. Repeat as needed.
3 – Geese hiss, honk, and squawk at visitors (2 legged and 4) to alert about a threat. They are better than guard dogs. (Our neighbors love us in the middle of the night when their sound carries very well.)
4 – Goats can and do jump four to five feet high to get to a limb of a tree they like so they can eat the tender leaves.
5 – Savannah, the donkey, will bray to say “Hello” to my hubby whenever he’s outside, even if he was just outside five minutes earlier.

My Take on this book:
A fun read for children and its poetry! This is an extraordinary introduction as children begin their love affair with poetry. The material in this book is fresh, engaging and mind stretches for the readers. Great for giggles, cuddles and bedtime reading. I think you’ll like this book. I do.
