Marnie Olson is a critically-unacclaimed actor and writer.
Her novel, Grateful, is available wherever you buy books. Marnie Screams Into the Void is her Substack, which is widely read by at least three people.
Marnie lives in Los Angeles, unencumbered by progeny or partner. She is currently pitching and writing screenplays, stories and novels, querying lit agents, auditioning, performing, fighting the patriarchy and cleaning the litter box. In her free time, she beats herself up for not being more productive and successful.

So I'm working on a ghost story. Which I'm hoping will be way more interesting than my real life. (less)

I don’t deal well with this at all. Mostly I take a step back, and just work on something else. There are stories that just flow out of me so easily. Others, the labor is much more intense. Sometimes I have to just move away from it for a while. Write something else. Or paint some furniture. Or clean the bathroom. If the story wants to be told badly enough, eventually it will come out and play. (less)

I march because the hatred of women and girls, and their continued oppression baffles and terrifies me.

I march because the GOP despises women like me.

I march because the easiest way to dominate and enslave women is to use our own biology against us. Because I will always believe that women have right and autonomy over our own bodies. Because there are women in this country who are being forced to

Pablo Neruda
“I crave your mouth, your voice, your hair.
Silent and starving, I prowl through the streets.
Bread does not nourish me, dawn disrupts me, all day
I hunt for the liquid measure of your steps.

I hunger for your sleek laugh,
your hands the color of a savage harvest,
hunger for the pale stones of your fingernails,
I want to eat your skin like a whole almond.

I want to eat the sunbeam flaring in your lovely body,
the sovereign nose of your arrogant face,
I want to eat the fleeting shade of your lashes,

and I pace around hungry, sniffing the twilight,
hunting for you, for your hot heart,
Like a puma in the barrens of Quitratue.”
Pablo Neruda
