I knew for a long time that I wanted to write in some form, but I didn't know it would be children's books until I sat down to write novel-length work and found I really loved working on stories that portrayed the world through a young person's eyes.

Just listen. Listen.”
Jacqueline Woodson, Brown Girl Dreaming
