Ted liked Daniel Silliman's review of The Desert Fathers: Sayings of the Early Christian Monks: "Not sure how to evaluate this collection and how well it represents the early monastic tradition, but I found most of the spirituality here pretty focused on human effort. Kind of just pious athleticism. "
