REYNA FAVIS is an Amazon Bestselling Author. She writes about things that go bark in the night. Readers have praised her novels for the very human stories behind the hauntings that create unexpected plot twists, drama, and even moments of humor. Reyna served as a K9 handler and ground pounder for search and rescue for over 10 years. She was frequently found on her belly as she was dragged through the woods by a search dog. If you do not enjoy walks in the woods, she invites you to connect with her on Facebook. Reyna has a Ph.D. in biology and was one lab accident away from becoming a supervillain before she took up writing. She lives as an unapologetic introvert with her husband, dogs, and cats in New Jersey.

For me, the writing gets easier when the characters become fully fleshed and begin to take the story in unanticipated directions. (less)

King of the Crows (Vanished, #7) by B.B. Griffith

B.B. Griffith asked me believe a lot of fantastical things in this story. And I was able to. Suspension of disbelief was possible because the characters (even the non-humans) were fleshed out and real, and the setting was painted in such memorable co ...more

When those in power in the real world show no inclination toward integrity or justice, it's nice to be able to turn to fiction and find it in spades. Beyond the well-drawn character of Harry Dresden, the book made me laugh out loud. I am in awe of ho ...more

Well, that was a lot of fun! Come for the urban fantasy, stay for the snappy dialogue. The story kept me turning the pages, since it was such a beautiful blend of the arcane and mundane: magic and money problems, Kevlar and spells. Looking forward to ...more

"search and rescue plus

A combination of active search and rescue teamwork plus these stories of a human team working with a soul seeker who resembles a dog to humans is the background of the Zackie Stories. And these are gritty, not cozy and feel real" Read more of this review »

This story has me convinced: what we all need is an emotional support hedgehog for when life gets tough. This was a nice fairytale with a down-to-earth main character. Rhea is smart and brave, but importantly, she earns these characteristics through ...more

“We ambled on to the gift store where I found a t-shirt that tickled my fancy. I also fell in love with a pen holder that looked like a family of spotted Nessies. I asked the clerk to first wrap the pen holder in some tissue paper and then in the t-shirt. My heart would be broken if it didn’t survive the trip back home. There were some things a woman cannot live without.”
