I love to read and write and I am lucky enough to make a living teaching both. I also write, record, and perform music in a few different projects over the years. Can't do audiobooks. Enjoy a good paperback/hardcover.

I do not participate in any other forms of social media. Goodreads is good enough for me.

I also buy and sell classic soul, funk, and early rock 'n' roll vinyl 45s on Discogs (if you're into that sort of thing):

"A slow start, but after a stretch, you begin to get into its quirky rhythms (which match Lawrence's quirky personality). Mr. and Mrs.. Lawrence (or "q-b" as he calls her) venture from Sicily to Sardinia, travel up that rocky island's midsection, and " Read more of this review »

"This was a very good book about the town of Deadwood, South Dakota. When I picked it up, I thought that the death and gunfight involving Wild Bill Hickock would probably feature heavily in the story. It does not. Instead, it is a history of the town " Read more of this review »

Two Spanish Picaresque Novels by Anonymous
"Written around the same time as Don Quixote - these are ribald, rambunctious and extraordinary tales, of hunger, peril, imprisonment, priests, swindlers, bowel movements and romantic adventures. Wonderfully entertaining "
