Nayeema Ahmad Mehjoor is the Chairperson of State Commission for Women. She has formerly worked with Radio Kashmir before she started her illustrious stint with BBC, working as a producer of BBC Urdu Service for 22 years.

Even her yearlong sabbatical from BBC in 1997 saw her trying to work for her people back in Kashmir as broadcaster of ‘Shaherbeen’, one of the oldest and most popular show in Srinagar.
