The Blood Legacy website has been completely redone. If you’ve never read the series, there are now sample chapters from all the books in HTML, PDF, and Kindle format. If you’re new to the series, you might want to avoid the later excerpts since they do contain spoilers for the earlier books.

When I get really ambitious, I’m going to put the comics on there for free viewing, probably in the same format. But I think I will finish Book 5 first…

In case you haven’t seen it, the 2nd printing of The Story of Ryan is out with the original Michael Turner cover. As I have said before, this is my all-time favorite depiction of Ryan. The 2nd printing also gave me the opportunity to go back and correct the more egregious errors/typos in the novel (I’m sure I missed a few, sigh), which made me extremely happy.

So I’ve been doing a lot of housekeeping lately, and the new Blood Legacy  site is uploaded. It is a complete re-do since the old one was built in some hideous mis-mash of archaic HTML and outdated, inline CSS. I had a lot of fun updating my skills, and responsive web design rocks. So regardless of whether you’re looking at it on a smart phone, table, or desktop, it should look and respond pretty decently.

As so often happens with me, this project morphed into several projects, including 2nd printings of both “The Story of Ryan” and “The House of Alexander,” and the digital editions of the comic books. I’ll provide some links so everyone can check them out.

And yes, the as-yet untitled Blood Legacy 5 is on its way, not imminent, but on it s way…

If you see a new Blood Legacy cover, don’t get too excited, it is NOT the fifth book in the series. It is however, the way I always wanted “The House of Alexander” to look. I was never quite happy with the original cover, which actually, was not the original cover. The image I was working on was a beautiful render from a 3D model, however, I was having enormous difficulties with the color conversion from RGB to CYMK, and it never quite turned out the way I wanted. I ran out of time and went with a kind of thrown-together image that ended up on the cover.

So when the book was up for the 2nd printing, I decided to go back and give a stab at the original image. I don’t know if software got a lot better or I got a lot better, but I was able to solve the problems I had experienced nine years before in oh, about five minutes.

So I am at last happy with the visual appearance of this book. And since “The Story of Ryan” is also due for its next printing, I’m going to tweak that one as well. I’m going to stick with the Michael Turner artwork, but I’m going back to his original, including the brilliant color done by Peter Steigerwald. I’ll keep you posted…
