As C.T. Onions states, painting can be “specious, feigned, unreal.”*

And artistic painting can also be untrue.

Whatever it’s superficial appearance, the only deep Truth to paint is Jen, Matrophilia, in any of Its infinite manifestations.

Most people have little awareness of either their inner feelings or the outside world. In this revelatory talk, Dr. Diamond shows how the desire for deep awareness relates to the Acupuncture Emotional System. Two particular issues are revealed: the Lung meridian quality of Aspiration (the feeling that life has a Higher Purpose); and the belief that one has a core of love, which relates to the Heart meridian. In the psychiatry journals, many advertisements for drugs. But none for Compassion, for Caring – for Healing.

Healing, but not treatment, offers a Sanctuary within which the sufferer’s own Healing Power, the Integrative Factor, can at last be actuated. Drugs, on the other hand, further suppress It.

I remember back in 1960 attending a lecture by a visiting psychiatric dignitary, I believe it was E.J. Anthony. His subject was the children of schizophrenic mothers.

It impressed me deeply and over the years I have tried to help them as best I can bearing in mind that they are not the designated patients. And yet they so suffer, are in deep anguish.

My present approach would be to see past their mother’s illness, past her craziness – her fearsomeness. To See into her – deeply – to the Mother she yearned to be – but couldn’t be.

In essence, to find their mother’s Soul – and thus their own. Safety, peace, at last.

To a very limited extent, I sometimes could – I think – find the Deep Unconscious of some of the very disturbed schizophrenics in the locked wards of a mental asylum. How so much more difficult for their children!

I speak of each of us having a Soul, as if each Soul were individual. But perhaps there’s only one Soul, with myriad manifestations.

And what if there’s only one Spirit: the Great Spirit, the spirit guides and the spirits within all One?

And the one Soul and the one Spirit also One. All, all, all One.

There were seven Cleopatras, the last one – the one of our fantasies – was Cleopatra VII, the last queen of Egypt.[1] The name is Macedonian meaning “Famous in her Father.”

Our Cleopatra went further, calling herself “Thea Philopator, Father-Loving Goddess.”

Would that we could each call ourselves as well – and more basically – Philomator. That we could all be Cleomatras.
