I work full time as an editor and am almost always on a deadline; I have two high needs kids for whom I am generally the only parent available (my partner is a chef); and, so, when I have time to write...I WRITE.

Here's a bonus aspect: it makes me less judgmental about my work. If I have ten minutes to write and at the end of that time I haven't written WAR AND PEACE...That's ok, right? Reasonable enough...

In general, though, I guess I'd simply suggest creating structures, deadlines, schedules - whatever you can come up with to scaffold the wilder energy of creativity. (less)
