This World of Confusion

This world is a melting pot of confusion

One minute it’s this, the next it’s that

Now in great health, then you’re not

That saying we hear, but take little notice of

‘In the midst of life, we are in death’

Is really so true…

But to dwell on it would make you blue.

Wars, rumours of wars, and threats

Leave little room for sober thoughts

Joy comes hand-in-hand with sadness

And no one can escape their wilderness.

Then loneliness and pain take over

Wondering if it ...

Don’t Fear Fear – Strength under Grace

Don’t Fear Fear

Don’t Fear Fear – Strength under Grace

P.L. Bennett

But what is fear?
nothing but a homeless thought
whose limited power is dependent on where
it lives, and how much attention it’s bought
from the unsuspecting vessel
colluded against in its lifelong wrestle.

And where did it come from?
the unguarded thoughts allowed
not just to creep in, but to feed on the crumb
of brokenness, screaming aloud
with no one to hear or understand
the dangerous position fear now stand.

So when...

Travel: The New Dawn

Travel in this second vicennial year of the twenty-first century has taken a turn. Whether it’s for better or worse remains to be seen. It is costly, tense, and difficult; so at first glance it seems to be for the worst. However, it is more organised, ensures that you think and plan ahead, and is more disciplined than before. So what can we really expect as we begin to gently rise up out of the ashes of COVID19, and embrace the beauty of God’s world?

I am currently in my most favourite place...

This is me Lord!

A little thought provoking verse

This is me Lord,

Called from my land of birth

Committed to purpose on this earth.

This is me Lord,

Wrestling until morning

Refusing to let go until I receive my blessing.

This is me Lord,

Standing before the Red Sea

Your rod outstretched before me.

This is me Lord,

Going before the king

Trusting that his sceptre will welcome me in.

This is me Lord,

Sitting in the lion’s den

Waiting patiently for the door to open.

Bethany – A Haven for Jesus

Jesus Journeys

Bethany of Judea, a wild mountain hamlet welcomed Him into their midst. This quiet wretched little town was a sanctuary to the sick and outcast, and a haven to Jesus and His disciples, which explains why Jesus spent so much time there. He came for the wretched, the poor in spirit, those who needed Him, and He found them. Bethany was no place for the rich – only the afflicted could be found here!

Also known as the ‘house of misery’; Bethany was located about two miles from Je...

The Best Journey Ever

A Simple Guide Through Christianity

Love God, love people; the two commandments Jesus gave us under Grace. This Easter weekend we focus on Christ’s journey to the grave and beyond. In three days and nights He journeyed into death and removed the power it had over us to set us free. And this is where our journey begins; the best journey ever. Though we live and die, the way we live matters. In an ever changing world, and one that is not changing for the better; we need to know who we are in Ch...

If I Perish, I Perish

A Day’s JourneyQueen Esther

“If I perish I perish,” (Esther 4:16). Formidable words spoken by a woman who rose from humble beginnings to become King Ahasuerus’ queen; ruler of one hundred and twenty-seven provinces from India to Ethiopia. At that time there were Jews living in the provinces who’d been taken away from Jerusalem and forced into captivity. But this did not break their resolve and they were still God’s chosen people. King Ahasuerus also known as Xerxes, was ruler of a vast ric...

A Day’s Journey

No one lives beyond a day! Try as we may, we cannot quite get to the end of the day. The morning arrived and brought with it, life; new fresh and blooming – perfection personified. But in the day that the eyes of man were opened, time started on mankind, bringing with it new parameters which prevented us from ever getting through the day. In fact, we barely get through a fraction of the day. No, not one of our days; one of God’s days. In the day that Adam ate of the forbidden fruit, he died, yet...

When Will Jesus Return?

Keep it Simple Series

Two thousand and twenty one years ago Jesus was born into the human race. And during His ministry on Earth, He preached for the world to turn away from our sinful lives and accept Him as Lord and Saviour, so we could become children of God once more, inheriting the kingdom of heaven. And there was an urgency in this call to action: “From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand,’” [Matthew 4:17]. And the haste and urgency ...
