I am 75 pages into you book, and it is bringing back memories! I spent 10 days living with a Gyakuyu (can't do the diacriticals) School teacher's family. I think it was Kirungenyi outside of Embu. I was surprised to hear that the Wadawida fought the British out of the Taita Hills for 8 years? In my book I quote a rather long story told to me by Michaeli Mwangigi about the Wadawida and their fierce battles with Maasai.
